Creating A temporary UrL?
Good Evening, I was wondering, is there a web platform or web host that would allow you to put up a page (short term)? I'm thinking of a page with information on it, no links or interactive elements. It would need to be accessible to the public since its primary purpose would be to have an url to share. If there is such a platform then would I be able to work with it/set things up using voice over, either on the Mac or with IOS? Thank you very much for any and all suggestions. Re: Dragging And Dropping With VO In Catalina
Thanks Tim and ET. The mouse commands were the ones I was/am using. (Always good to be sure I remembered them correctly Thank You!). The problem seems to be intermittent so I must be doing something wrong. Tim, I've mainly tried to drag and dropfrom documents to the desk top, and vise versa. I have more than seven hundred items to move (the Mac was not well set up) so I really want to get this working smoothly. Incidentally any suggestions on how to simplify and make the moving of all these files and folders as quick and easy as possible would be much appreciated. Thanks again for the help, Joy > On Feb 26, 2020, at 12:31 AM, 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries > wrote: > Hi, The VO-period and VO-comma commands for dragging and dropping are primarily for very short distance movement and have numerous limitations. I ran into this issue with the Notes App just yesterday. Being very new to the Mac I presumed I was missing something or doing it wrong and called Apple Accessibility. Re: Reading by sentence in books app
I changed my vo key to caps lock and I'm so happy I did, just pressing the one key makes things so much simpler especially when working those multi key combos. Joy On Feb 16, 2020, at 3:15 PM, Phil Halton wrote: As we know, the voice over command to read by sentence is VO plus command plus page up and page down. On the Apple Bluetooth keyboard, this means one must hold down with the left-hand the function, control, option, and command keys while pressing the up or down arrow keys with the right hand.. those are the four keys to the left of the spacebar and for those of us with carpal tunnel, this can become a crippling position after some time. my solution is to use a “chip clip“ to firmly hold these keys in place which allows me to then operate the arrow keys with a single finger of either hand, and this greatly relieves the stress I would otherwise experience in the left hand nerves. I imagine that a clipboard would also work as long as the jaw of the clip was at least as wide as those four keys, but I wonder if the intense pressure of a metal clipboard might not damage the keyboard itself. As it is, the plastic chip clip has enough force to hold the keys down but I don’t think enough to damage the keyboard. by the way, if anybody doesn’t know what I mean by a “chip clip“, it’s basically a plastic wide clip used to reseal a bag of potato chips after it’s been opened. And they can be found at any grocery store. Anyway, that’s my solution for a problem that was threatening to keep me from being able to read in the Books app or on any app that requires use of a keyboard. I know there’s another fellow on this list with carpal tunnel and maybe he can get some ideas from this. Re: Outlook On IMac
Thank you to everyone who replied. The Outlook I am running isn't Office 365 I'm not sure if that makes a difference. I use my email A Lot, however, I don't need it to do anything fancy. I just ended my twenty-one year relationship with Outlook Express on Tuesday , ... should tell you all you need to know about my email preferences to date. I've een (and am currently) using the email on my IPhone. It sounds as though Apple Mail maybe the simplest solution for me. Which raises the new question, how would I go about transferring the contents of my Outlook into the Apple Mail? Because I have a lot of contacts and reference information I want to keep! It's effective for working with mail and the calendar. I haven't tried anything else with Outlook, though. Outlook On IMac
Good day, I recently switched from a (Older) Microsoft PC to my new IMac. To put it mildly I'm just fumbling around at the moment. I was wondering, is there a guide for how to use Outlook (preferably using Voice Over)? And? Is Outlook really the most accessible email app? Any and all advice and suggestions are very welcome. Thanks, Joy -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
