Audible, New Victor Reader Stream and the Mac?
Hello everyone, For many years, I have enjoyed listening to Audible content on my Victor reader Stream. Downloading books from the Audible site has never been a problem and I don't anticipate that it ever will be. An area where I am having problems, however, is that of downloading the activation key from the Audible Support Center for the New Victor Reader Stream. According to the Humanware mail that I received, we are supposed to activate our Streams through Audible's program manager software. Since this software runs under Windows, I am wondering how this task is accomplished on the Mac. Any help would be truly appreciated. Totally forget it Mike. It isn't possible now and it isn't likely to ever be possible. Not, unless that is, you want to install and run windows on yoru Mac. Some have done this: but I, for one, will NEVER EVEr EVER do that. My best answer to your delema is that, if you have an Iphone, get the Audible app. Nice and accessible and easy. To speak frankly, the very issue you raise in your question is the critically important factor which led me to go the Iphone rout rather than the new Generation Victor Reader Stream rout. Am I ever glad I did: because, you see, I have noticed severle people saying on the Victor Reader Stream list that they have been experiencing volume wowes on their units since the upgrade. Best way to solve your problem-at least in my opinion-is just to go the Iphone rout. Sent from my mac, the only computer with full accessibility for the blind built-in! Sincerely, The Constantly Barefooted Ray Still a very proud and happy Mac and Iphone user! Re: Audible, New Victor Reader Stream and the Mac?
Hello Ray, I do have the Audible app on my iPhone, but for reasons I won't go into now, I prefer reading audio content on other devices. I use my iPhone all the time for reading newspapers, RSS feeds and ebooks, but there are just times when I prefer using the Stream. Although I hate to do it, I will try to run VMWare Fusion and install the Audible download manager. Take care, and thanks for your input, Mike On 23,May,2013, at 5:15 PM, Ray Foret Jr rfore...@att.net wrote: Totally forget it Mike. It isn't possible now and it isn't likely to ever be possible.
