Re: Dash vs Minus
Hi ET, How about setting up a vo activity for your financial app? I've done this in pro tools and it helps much. :) It would be nice just to have vo say minus or negative with out all the other verbosity stuff though. Re: Dash vs Minus
What led me to start this topic is that I noticed some shortcomings in Checkbook Pro. When I knew there were some entries with negative numbers, I was not hearing the indicator. So I changed the punctuation verbosity level from some to most and VO then spoke those entries with 'dash'. So Jonathan pointed me to the same place and change the substitution. That works but if I leave the punctuation verbosity level set to most I get too much. I experimented in a document and it was nice to see how this works. I will run this by the developer too and see if if a change can be made there so I can keep the level set to some. From E.T.'s Keyboard... Thanks, that was easy. Now though comes attempts to find a balance between some punctuation or most punctuation. Set to some, VO will not speak the minus. Set to most, it will but also will read hyphen in other areas. Is it possible to do finer tweaking of this? And back in the pronunciation section, its either All apps or one. Can you select more than one app? Or add separate entries and pick a different app for each? This is going to be a fun exercise for me. From E.T.'s Keyboard...
