Lol. Gee, and I was afraid that our former cable company was the one doing
that. ;)

Huh. Well, I guess I'm glad to know that the problem probably isn't on my end.
Weird, though. I wonder what is causing this. It's rather frustrating, since
my husband and I decided to give up cable last November, so would really like
access to my purchased movies and TV shows.

You’re right, Home Sharing is very hit or miss nowadays, for some reason.

Usual troubleshooting procedure applies: restart stuff ’til it works. Better
if you can get that stuff over to a wired network.

Yes. Apple’s management does seem blissfully unaware of the effects its
software quality is having on its reputation nowadays, doesn’t it? I guess
when the benchmark is Windows and Android … if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em! :)

Has anyone else noticed that homesharing doesn't work so well these days?

2016-03-02 Thread Donna Goodin
Hi all,

I've spent the last half hour trying to stream a TV Show from my MBA to my
Apple TV. I've turned Homesharing on and off several times, but still when I
use my Apple TV to try and access the TV show on my Mac, it says Turn on
Homesharing. One thing I've always liked about Apple is that stuff worked
right out of the box. But if this is the current state of things, I might as
well go back to Windows. If anyone has the foggiest idea what might be going
on here, I'd appreciate the help.
Cheers,
Donna
