Re: Mail drop in OS X Yosemite.

2015-04-23 Thread Sadam Ahmed

Hello,

Thanks for sending through the info regarding Mail Drop.

It's a great feature of Yosemite that's proving to be useful when
sending large attachments to my teachers.

Again thanks the the clarification.

All the best,

MailDrop works fine. The attachments menu will show the attachment just as
though it were part of the message. You don’t need to do anything special to
send. For the benefit of other email clients, the body of the message is
updated to include a fragment of text, one per attachment, with the clickable
link. This also makes MailDrop a nice way to temporarily host something; send
an email to yourself, copy the link, and share it. The file expires in a
month. MailDrop is only activated when the SMTP server announces a SIZE
capability that is exceeded by your attachment’s size.

Hi,

Thanks Sabahattin. I must have missed this one when looking at the new
features in Yosemite. This is an excellent bonus to using Apple Mail IMO.

You don’t need to do anything special to use MailDrop; just make sure you’re
signed in to iCloud from System Preferences, and if you like, check the
Advanced preferences in Mail to ensure it’s switched on (which it is by
default). It works with any email provider, and not just iCloud Mail.
