Re: Message Table?

2022-12-21 Thread Jonathan C. Cohn
Sometimes this is automatic, depending on the folder you’re in. But I believe
in the view menu, there is a selector for which columns are to be added. This
might depend on whether you were in class if you were standard view, which is
called something else now.

My email messages are in a five column table: Subject, date, from etc.
Lately, From column, for some unknown reasons, is replaced with To column and

How can I go back to From column again, please?
Thanks!

When I go to message table in Mail, I find five columns in this table:

Reading Messages in Message Table?

2022-11-07 Thread Mohammad Fazil
Hi, group.
I am using Native Mail in my Macbook-Pro 2017. Messages are in a
five-column-table and I am happy with this table.
I subscribe to several email list and messages from all the lists come in this
Inbox.
The third column of this five-column table shows the name of the individual
sender but not the email list where the message is from.
How should I know the name of the list whose message I am reading, please?
Thanks!

Re: Moving to top of message table

2012-06-21 Thread Lisette Wesseling
Hi
Thanks to you for trying to help us figure this out.
When I follow the steps to set a short cut key to move to top of email list, it
still takes me to the sort by date button. vo down arrow takes me to the top
of the message list, even though I've set it to go to the visible end.
Could my inbox be set to really small size? I've pressed the zoom button but
don't actually know how big it is or should be.
Is there a way to set mail to go back to defaults, preferably without losing my
accounts and messages?

Re: Moving to top of message table

2012-06-21 Thread Anne Robertson
Hello Lisette,

I'm a bit confused as to how you're viewing your mail.

I find Classic View to be simplest and I get rid of the preview pane. In this
way, I have the list of my mailboxes on the left and a list of messages on the
right. I press Return to open a message and VO reads it straight through.
Command-w closes the message again.

To set up Mail in this way, go to Mail Preferences (Command-Comma) and select
Viewing in the toolbar. Then check the Use classic layout check box. Press
Command-w to close the preferences.

If your mailboxes are not visible, try pressing Command-Shift-m.

Cheers,

Anne

Moving to top of message table

Hi all,
Is there a way of quickly getting to top of message table in mail?
When I do vo, fn shift left arrow, I get to a button called select by date

arrow up but that takes a while with a large mailbox.
Any suggestions? I'm on a macbook pro hence the need for the fn key.

Can you explain how you set up Right Option 1 and 2 to tho to bottom of message

chose Right Option 1, but could not find the appropriate action to assign that

I as well use control-option-shift home or shift-end. Since I'm on a macbook

After a while, I found all these buttons annoying, so i use the trackpad

Re: Moving to top of message table

2012-06-20 Thread Red.Falcon
OK Yes there is the trackpad option as well!
But if you want the Keyboard version here it is!
I'll do it as if someone needs it from the beginning!

1, Open VoO utility with VO+f8
You should be on General scroll across to the [allow voiceover to be controlled
by applescripts ] check box and checkit!
2, press command+8 and this will take you to the commanders, and go and select
the Keyboard commander tab!
3, you can enable keyboard commander, then next you can choose which option key
you wish to use! [it should be on the right one by default]
4, now you can go to the table of shortcuts [and there will be some already
there] like option+T for the time and option+S for safari!
Next to the table is the add button select it!
5, The 1st field is where you put the key you wish to use [have the key in
mind]because it must be put in 1st!
6, Next is the menu of commands you want to use!
So pick the Navigation sub menu and if you want to set the option to go to the
top and stay in the same column pick the [go to most visible top or for the end
most visible end!

Okay, I set up the actions and for some reason, only one works. So in other

down the list, but don't reach the bottom. What have I missed?

When I do vo, fn shift left arrow, I get to a button called select by

obviously arrow up but that takes a while with a large mailbox.
Any suggestions? I'm on a macbook pro hence the need for the fn key.

The only thing I can think of is you might have picked the wrong item in the
menu! There is the go to End and go to most visible end!
Just check which one you have!
And if you got the right option of command I do not know why it is not working
for you!

Okay, I think I have go to visible end selected. But here is additional info.
If I go to the bottom of the message list, then Option 1 does not work. If I
go to the top of the message list, then Option 2 does not work. So I am
stumped. I'll have someone eyeball this and see what they notice.

Re: Moving to top of message table

2012-06-20 Thread Red . Falcon
Hi again!
I've checked and that is the right command to pick from the Jump sub menu!
If you wish to check it out 1st just press!
VO+shift+J and then straight away VO+shift+down arrow and you should find
yourself at the bottom of the page still in the same column as you were!
And then do the same [but adding the up arrow] and you should be at the top!

You do not need the most visible top or bottom items just the most top or
bottom items from the Jump sub menu!

Hi there!
OK When you open the menu to select which command you wish to use instead of
going to the navigation sub menu at or near the bottom should be the Jump sub
menu!
If it is not there maybe Apple have removed or renamed it!
It should also turn up if you call up VO commands with VO+H+H

Hi,

Good catch, Greg. Pete can probably check this if he slows down his speech.
VO+J only works if you still have the Mail Preview Pane showing (which is the
default set up for Mail).

voiceover interacting when collapsing threads in mail message table

2011-01-26 Thread Frank Carmickle
Hello

I search the list archive to see if I could find anything about this and didn't
come up with anything, so forgive me if this has been asked before.

It seems as though voiceover always wants to interact with the table when I
collapse a thread. I don't like this much. Is there anything I can do about
it?

Thanks much
