Re: Need to Repair TextEdit on Monterey OS
Herbie, Yes restarted and shutdown/start a few times, and until the last time, did not fix. I also Googled the question and found that some .clist files in the library folder needed to be cleared out. One file with the name com.apple.textInput.keyboardServices.textReplacement.plist seemed to do the trick — fingers crossed. Re: Need to Repair TextEdit on Monterey OS
Have you tried restarting your system? I had this same issue and restarting fixed it completely. Text edit comes as part of the OS, and I could not find a way to reinstall the program. > On Apr 18, 2022, at 23:03, Dave Carlson wrote: > > My Text Edit constantly goes into “TextEdit not responding” when I open it > without a document, or when I close a document. Need to Repair TextEdit on Monterey OS
My Text Edit constantly goes into “TextEdit not responding” when I open it without a document, or when I close a document. I always have to use the force quit to shut it down. This started happening yesterday, and so far I’ve found no solution to fix it. Is there a site where I can download a new installation file for TextEdit? The version that comes with Monterey is 1.17. Or perhaps there is a configuration file somewhere in the system that is corrupted and needs to be deleted or rebuilt?
