Re: Possible workaround to Safari5 Problems
Hi, Glad it's working for you. In my case, it seems to help, but it's still less than desirable. I have found however, that if I shut down vo, refresh the page, then what a few seconds before starting vo, I think I'm letting what ever loads to do whatever it's doing before I start trying to read the page. So far, it has worked every time. Re: Possible workaround to Safari5 Problems
For what it's worth, Safari has worked like a charm ever since I unchecked the "web" setting in VO utilities that says "move the voiceover cursor to it when loading a web page". I've done no other modifications except resetting Safari, so I'm not sure how much of a factor that is. Hi, It doesn't solve the problem. It fixes it so that refreshing the page works 80% of the time. There is something else that I've been doing and it has worked every time for me. Hi. I think that if you turned on java after navigating away from the main page you will be fine. I had the crashing issue with audible again after signing in, but once I tabbed around and opened another link I was fine. Try that and see if it works for you. I have no problems on the Chase site including transactions. However, it won't work at all with Javascript disabled. if I do that, after logging on, I simply get a blank page. Mary: When I turn off javascript the audible site works for me. However, when I attempt to download a book, nothing happens. I think javascript has to be enabled to make downloading work. Unfortunately I don't have an audible account, but the reader works everywhere but on the Apple site that I have tried, and I have no trouble with sluggishness. Ok, I've tried this atleast 20 times so I'll pass along this tip. In voiceover utility, go to web and uncheck the box that says "Move the VoiceOver cursor to it When loading a new webpage:". I can certainly zip up my log files and send them on over to accessibility. I wouldn't even know what to look for in terms of odd entries, though. Re: Possible workaround to Safari5 Problems
HI, I haven't updated yet, and based on the feedback from the list I don't plan to. However, for those of you who experiencing problems, are there any odd/unusual entries in the system logs, or other log files? If so, this content might be very useful to Apple in their attempts to debug, recreate and (hopefully) solve the issue. The fact that so many of you are experiencing the same issue means it should be relatively straightforward to reproduce. It seems like Apple did not do the testing with VO that they should have done before releasing this. Re: Possible workaround to Safari5 Problems
The only thing that seems to work consistently is to disable java script entirely and that is a lousy thing to have to do. It's definitely a java script issue. I wanted to mention some things that keep throwing me off in making me think that it's fixed. When I disable something in the develop menu, the Safari screen is completely blank to vo. I have to refresh the page and restart vo. after that everything is fine until I close the browser, and even then it might work two or three times. I just got Audible to work three times in a row. In any event, sf 5 is full of problems. I don't recommend anyone update. As I posed previously, I've had the same think happen on an Apple support page.
