Re: yet another VO feature broken?
Couldn't agree more. I came back on here to be able to keep up with people's experiences of Lion and nothing more, and that has been useful, but every new OS brings changes, fact. My way of dealing with mail was to try the new layout and wait to see what tips I found, and in the main I really like it, but if I want to do certain things I know I can switch back and forth between the two views. Isn't that extra flexibility? I have one issue with Lion about which I've contacted a developer, and they already knew about the issue and will have an update soon that will fix it. People on here are so negative that I will not name them! I know others who have left this list due to the sheer moaning that some people do. They need to realise that change is inevitable and find out how to deal with new ways of doing things before mouthing off! That doesn't mean I don't think genuine bugs and inconveniences shouldn't be reported though. Cheers Dave On 27 Jul 2011, at 03:26, Jeffrey Shockley wrote: Here's my take on this. Can you ever say that again Jeffry. Could not agree with you more. After all, look at me. I was of the irronious opinion that Mail would take me forever to get used to because of all the complaints; and, what happened, within the same night I installed Lion, I'd pretty much worked it out. I'm talking about the new layout not the classic one. Sincerely, The Constantly Barefooted Ray!!! Now a very proud and happy Mac user!!! RE: yet another VO feature broken?
That's exactly why I chose to go back to Snow Leopard for the time being. I found that I was avoiding the mac because the lion issues I was experiencing were just bugging me, probably more than they should. Although I think the battery drain and running significantly warmer stuff was a fairly legitimate concern. Anyway, for now, I feel much happier using snow leopard, and I'll give lion another chance once some of the bugs have been ironed out. -Original Message- From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com [mailto:macvisionaries@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Donna Goodin Sent: Tuesday, July 26, 2011 7:11 AM To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: yet another VO feature broken? Re: yet another VO feature broken?
I don't blame you. I thought about it, too. But I do think that others are probably right, that there will be an update released soon. so for now, I'm sitting tight, and I'll try the update when it's released. If that doesn't help, I'll probably go back to SL too. Best, Donna On Jul 26, 2011, at 7:13 AM, Missy Hoppe wrote: That's exactly why I chose to go back to Snow Leopard for the time being.
Yes, VO definitely says how many mail messages there are in a conversation under the new layout, but it never said that for me in snow leopard. Also, about ending up in hte message content window, I usually arrow up and down a conversation, then read all the messages, and then shift tab back to the message list and delete the conversation. I haven't found my mac less pleasant to use at all. The new activities are making my life easier, and I like the improved Alex. Re: yet another VO feature broken?
Here's my take on this. Yall quit your complaining and learn to deal with the changes. No, nothin's perfect but geez! Let's just go on and complain just because something has to be accessed differently than before. Yeah that's the way to solve problems except not. So, while yall are at it, just go report everything that's just not the same as it was before to Apple except that won't solve nothin. Yes, like everything Lion has it's bugs and such but just because acts or looks or does anything differently don't mean it's broken. For example I did get confused by the new layout in Apple Mail at first so switched to classic view for a bit. Then what did I do, did I write here and complain about it like a little kid? Nope, I read help and read other documentation to help to better get used to everything; and now, I'm using Mail in the new layout which I don't have a problem with. Sorry but I get tired sometimes going through my E-Mail and seeing complaints that this is broken or doesn't work the same way as it did in SL. Everything's gottta change at some peoint whether we like it or not. I'm sorry if I get kicked off the list for this, but I for one get tired of seeing complaints and such in my Inbox every day since Lion cae out. Yeah I could just go on and dellete which I usually do, but at some point it just gets annoying. If it looks like I'm trying to start something, i'm not, just stating my opinion. Now I don't have a problem woth reporting bugs and such because if they were't what out wouldn't get fixed but complaining has its limits.
