Recently, a friend had the same problem. He call Microsoft and Apple support
and they could not figure it out. Then, suddenly, it worked. Who knows?

Re: A question about Microsoft Word for the Mac, is it even remotely usable with voiceover?

2022-02-05 Thread 'Jason White' via MacVisionaries
When you open a document in Microsoft Word for Mac, you should automatically be
placed in the document area (without having to interact with it), and you
should be able to use ordinary arrow keys to navigate the text – assuming that
Qucik Nav is turned off.

Maurice,
Given that accessibility means different things to different people, can
you walk the list through what specifically happens for you when trying
to read the document?
Have you tried reading other word files in case the issue is document
related?

Just some thoughts,

I can’t help with that problem. As I said, it has been working well for me for
quite a while now (at least the past few years).
You should probably lodge a support case with Microsoft Accessibility.
