Yeah I do to,

I saw this done on a phone a couple of years back but it was a jail break phone 
which the guy needed to power the hub to get enough power to the USb adapter in 
his phone to run the usb flash drive.

Which really makes sense.

I think you'll find that the Usb device needs a bigger power supply than what 
your phone can provide it.
See what happens if you use a USB hub Powered and then connected to your phone.

I’ve always used dropbox to transfer files to my phone, and if they are on a 
flash drive I just plugged it into my computer and used dropbox. Then it is 
quite easy to get files from dropbox into voice dream.
