Does it matter if one buys Scrivener from the App Store or from the company?
Hi all, Thinking of purchasing Scrivener. I know that some times there are reasons why it's preferable to purchase software from the company rather than the app store. Anyone happen to know if that's the case for Scrivener? Cheers, Donna -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list. Re: thoughts on Scrivener?
Hello there, I am a user of Scrivener, but admittedly I do not use all the feature this robust writing compiler offers. I like Scrivener because it allows me to contain all aspects of a document in one location. For example, when writing a research paper, I can separate all elements of the paper, and only focus on one section at a time. I have not had success importing sources into a Scrivener project, and in my view, it seems more efficient to just toggle between a PDF or text file, rather than interacting with a table, accessing the research folder, and opening a particular document. I do like the exporting feature, which allows me to save a completed document as a Microsoft Word file in preparation for sending to co-author colleagues. I have downloaded the Take Control of Scrivener book from Tidbits, which is something I will read through for tips, tricks, and ideas on using this program to its fullest potential. OT Scrivener issue
Hey list. I suppose only a few of you know about Scrivener. But I was busy going through the interactive tutorial, when suddenly, it doesn't want to display the text of the tutorial anymore. Where there was an edit field displaying the text, now there is an empty scroll area, how Voiceover announces it. Is there a voiceover command that I accidentally pressed, or is this to do with Scrivener itself? It doesn't help closing the app or anything I've tried. I think it gets stuck on the one document, and I think it might be a pdf or a web site. Sorry it sounds confusing. Thanks. Dewald. Scrivener Kork board and Synopsis Creation
Hello everyone, For those who use Scrivener, is there a good way to how draft items appear in the cork board feature, so they can be moved? With this, is there a good way to create personal synopsis text for the index cards,so they they appear on the cork board it will show the manually entered text? I am glancing at the tutorial and from what I am gathering, most functions in large part must all be executed via the toolbar, which is no problem. I like this program because it allows for the compartmentalizing of documents, while containing everything within one project. AUstin, Not sure if I should thank you or curse you. :) Now I did download the trial and just have not found enough time to try it out. Now I wil and probably will end up purchasing it. I write policy for a living and I find the whole process really painful. The problem is trying to put the bits together while developing it. I tend to try and hop all over the document stuffing ideas in as I go and then play hell trying to ensure I got all my thoughts down. Seems this would be more efficient and productive. Nisus writer pro 2 is out. It seems rather accessible. There is a lot of new functions, it has been made easier to make a table of content, save it as epub or HTML. One interesting thing that has been added is a function in the spell checker that lets you correct all. I will recommend you to download the trial for free, and try it.
