Re: VoiceOver And iPhone Migration

2020-05-22 Thread Pete De Vasto
Thanks for the encouragement! Gabe’s right, it went pretty smoothly. Probably
the toughest part was installing the SIM card! Big fingers, tiny card,
no sight. But with a little trial and error, and being very careful where I put
the little card on my desk, I did get it. I also had a bit of trouble lining up
the viewer during the initial link-up, so decided to verify manually. That was
easy as well. I’m now just doing some final tweaking, and all does look
extremely good.

Re: VoiceOver And iPhone Migration

2020-05-22 Thread Gabe Griffith
Hi,

When I did this exact thing a couple weeks ago, updating from a 7 to the SE, it
couldn't have been easier. The new phone asked if I wanted to restore from
another phone and asked to enter a code that showed up on the phone on the
device I was restoring from. Once I entered that it walked me through setting
up things like my touch ID, Apple pay and maybe a couple things then told me to
leave both phones unlocked and near each other until the restore was complete.
That process took between 15 minutes and half an hour. The entire process was
completely accessible and probably the easiest iPhone setup experience I've
ever had.

HTH

Hi,

Yes, everything is accessible. What you’re actually doing is restoring the new
iPhone from a backup, so hopefully you’ve been either backing up to iCloud or
through iTunes/Finder on a Mac.

VoiceOver And iPhone Migration

2020-05-22 Thread Pete De Vasto
Hello all,

I’m upgrading from my iPhone 7 to the new iPhone SE, and the new phone is
arriving today. I was hoping I’d be able to use iPhone Migration to transfer
from the old to the new device. Will VO give me the right feedback so I can
align the two devices properly to do the initial part of the process? Are there
any other things I should know before I go this route? I can always fall back
to iTunes or iCloud, but the migration process really does seem like it would
be the way to go if it works OK with VO.

Thanks for any thoughts or advice,
Pete De Vasto
