Chrome includes flash, so if possible, you can play yOutube videos in that browser. Sorry I can't be more help with installing Flash player. Hi, Adobe Flash is as of Mavericks built in OSX. You have to enable Flash by going to the Safari settings with cmd+, when Safari is active and select the Advanced button. Then you see an option concerning internet plugins. By default these are disabled to save power usage. Good question, i don`t think so. It happened to me last time i was on You Tube. I was thinking that it was something wrong with the movie since voice over worked. After trying movie number two with no sound i found that the volume was muted accidentally. I am visionally impaired and was able to see the adjustable volume/mute switch after a while. All of a sudden they don't play. I've emptied the cash, went to flash under advanced in system preferences and deleted that stuff. I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash Player. I've repaired permissions, reset Safari, and I think that's all. I have a new MBA with ML. The videos played up until today and now they don't. I wonder if it doesn't depend on whether the video is being played by Flash or HTML5. Flash is not accessible while HTML5 is. I have opted in for HTML5 video when possible by going here: http://www.youtube.com/html5 but there are still some videos that play with the Flash interface because of some weird codec they use or advertising requirements. Hello, I'm curious about playing Youtube videos with safari. Sometimes, a video will let you see the controls for playback/volume, etc, and sometimes it won't. Does anyone know why this is, and if there's a way to get it to constantly show them? hi daniel, I have the same issue A lot of ways the volume control will be located using the form controls, or by going through the page with vo right. but other times its imply won't be there.
