getting status of skype contacts

Hi Chris, I don't know if there is a way to see status in Skype. If there is, I'm unsure what it is. As far as the mood message, I think it is in the file menu or maybe in preferences. I'm not sure. As far as changing the mood message, what you can do, is use your VO keys to go to the edit profile button, and then hit tab. After you hit tab, you'll be put into an edit box where you can type your mood text and hit return. Hi, Currently, you can obtain the status of a Skype contact through the Skype API itself, but there is currently no way within the Skype application to do this directly from the contact list as far as I know. A nice little utility called CLISK will do this for you, however, as well as adding a lot of other features that are currently unavailable within the GUI. Essentially, the status is available within the contact list, of course, but VoiceOver just does not read it which I suspect is mainly due to it being another graphical icon. As for changing your mood message, this is easy to do. Find the Edit Profile button in the Skype main window, then hit tab once. You'll see an edit field. Type what you want your mood message to be, then simply leave the field and it will be updated. The second point I can answer. To change your mood text in Skype go to where it says edit profile. then, from there, Tab once. You will land directly in the box where you type in or change your mood message. As to the first point, I do not believe it is yet possible to get the actual status of your contacts.
