Re: the sogga of the bricked iPhone X

2018-01-22 Thread aliFaisal
I have had my iPhone x now for a week, and I have to say, I haven’t encountered
the issues the original poster had mentioned. I have had no issues with the new
gestures but occasionally I have issues with the face ID not seeing my face,
but even so, the process is still reliable enough for me to use full time and
come to enjoy it.

2018-01-22 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hi!
Glad you got things worked out Sarai.
I did the same with my Iphone Se but didn’t need to restore it from Itunes.
But its not fun when it happens.
Now i am an android user so i don’t have this problem anymore.
The only downside from this is that there’s no good watch around for the
android folks like me who wants to do swimming. And the android blind community
can be quite rough and anti apple which can annoy me sometimes as for me it
doesn’t matter what you’re using or not using.
As long as it works for you its ok.

Re: the sogga of the bricked iPhone X

2018-01-21 Thread Eileen Scrivani
Sarai,

You bring up an interesting point on the phone. I have been using Face
Recognition and it mostly works for me, but there are enough times when I have
to manually type in my pass code – enough to annoy me. Other than that issue,
I’m happy with the phone. I know that I have to slide one finger up from the
center bottom edge of the screen to let it recognize my image, and when it
doesn’t work correctly I’ve assumed it had to due with not being able to
recognize my image. I think now I get the fact that I have to get my finger
right on that home button before starting the slide up.

Once the phone is unlocked I haven’t had issues with only going a fraction up
the screen to get back to the home screen or pressing the side button (from
certain screens), kor sliding further up to get it switched over to the app
switcher.

I’m going to start paying more attention as to where and what my finger is
landing on and does as I wake and unlock the phone.

Well I finally got Dad’s iPhone back to working. Ran the DFU update again with
the Apple Accessibility folks. We finally got it restored. I have to say, I
hate this phone! I know your supposed to run one finger up the edge to go home
but it only works part of the time fore me. Even dad who is sighted misses the
home button. He says there are too many gestures.

For home, start sliding the finger from the bottom edge, like with a flick,
before touching the display. I slide up from the lightning port.
