Re: [maemo-users] new Nokia 770 utility

That sounds very useful.

I still don't know how to remove icons from the bar- for instance, I'll
never use a cell phone and it would be nice to remove that phone icon.

I've just uploaded a new utility to the maemo download page. It is a
tool that sits on the statusbar and monitors network activity. The
amount of Tx/Rx is shown as a bar graph similar to the cpu load utility.
Clicking on the icon will bring up a screen where the IP address,
netmask, total Tx/Rx bytes transferred and current Tx/Rx rates are
displayed. Hope you guys find this useful.

I'm sure it will work, however you won't be able to plug the device into
a host computer and have the flash card mount on the desktop, like you
can now with a Windows or Macintosh computer.

Moving to an app other than xterm, then coming back to xterm will stop this
behavior.

i got the little stowaway keyboard and i've been annoyed with this
behavior too. i have been hitting control-m to get returns. this
keyboard also has / in the wrong place so i keep moving up the cursor
when i'm trying to write a pathname...

yes, see my update at www.dillernet.com/apple ---

you must use _less_ than 32 megs of swap.

I'm using a 24 meg swap partition and it works great.

just copy the file:

/home/user/.osso_rss_feed_reader/feedlist.opml

to your mmc card or your desktop. The RSS reader uses the raw OPML file
as its feeds.

It's super easy to setup a regular internet connection with a PAN
capable BT AP (dedicated device or your linux laptop.)

I wrote up what I found with my Belkin BT AP (which costs about $80):

I have the exact same problem - I've tried various solutions

handshakes with the 770 as if it's (say) some SonyEricsson phone.

In the end (after loads of posting in the ITT forums to try and
work this out) I gave up and just set up a rougue AP when I want to
show someone somthing on the 770 - in effect that just means I
don't use it much :(

OK, I stand corrected.

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25275

Too bad about the email client on the 770, it's really unusable for
my needs. _to_ _slow_.

I just use webmail for now.

Apple's .Mac email service is POP only- so I don't know what he tested.
