  Sorry, but in my first try i think we are misunderstood, but this is
  really a bug.

  I'am in Goals and skills, to reproduce it:
  - in Goals and skills | Summary page click on "Add a file"
  - add a lot of files so that the window must be longer than the screen (more
20 files)
  - view an image, in the preview popup click outside the visualization
  - you can see that it is impossible to scroll in the window that displays the
list of images (the focus has returned to the page back)

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1818082] Re: Long delays after release of ePortfolio for archiving

2019-03-23 Thread Kristina Hoeppner
Can you please provide more information on your server environment? It
sounds like performance was reduced. The portfolios ready for release go
into the export queue and are only processed when server resources are
available.

Title:
  Long delays after release of ePortfolio for archiving

Status in Mahara:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Since upgrading from 18.04 we have noticed a long delay for the group
  archiving process following the release of an ePortfolio from a group
  back to a student. It used to take 30mins for a 1 page eportfolio
  featuring 10 PDFs and 4 word documents to archive to LEAP2A. It is now
  taking more than 1 hour since we upgraded to 18.10.

  Interestingly we have found that the archiving is hanging for the
  first two submissions, but then if you submit a third ePortfolio and
  then release it that can hasten the first two into completing the
  archiving process. Upon checking the archived LEAP2A files they are
  fine.

  This is going to be a bit of a headache for us as students often
  accidentally submit before they are supposed to and 1 hour or more is
  a very long delay before they can resume work on their ePortfolio. As
  a result we are going to have to turn off archiving during submissions
  and then turn it on again in each group prior to ePortfolio release.

  Steps to complete:
  1. Student submits ePortfolio to a group which has archiving turned on.
  2. Academic releases ePortfolio back to student from the group.
  3. There is a long waiting period. Currently over 1 hour.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1818279] Re: Group - View group string not translate

2019-03-23 Thread Kristina Hoeppner
The string "grouphomepageviewtitle" found in lang/en.utf8/view.php is
not used for the title translation by the looks of it. Like other Mahara
pages, once the page is created, it retains its title. Since you can't
actually change the title "Group homepage" it would be good to always
use the translated generic title.

This should be done similarly to how we deal with the profile and
dashboard pages.

  On file auth/session.php line 112 we have this bit of code :
  $server_stats = $memcached->getStats();
  if ($server_stats[$destination . ":" . $port]['pid']
<= 0) {
  // can't reach the destination:port
  throw new
ConfigSanityException(get_string('nomemcachedserver', 'error', $server));

  We use a setup of a couchbase server that can handle memcached, but
  when arrive at that line, 112, the method returns a empty, even though
  we can set and get any information from couchbase.

  Is-it possible offers couchbase as a new type of sessionhandler?

Title:
  Add small logo to a theme

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress

Bug description:
  It is possible to upload a small logo via Admin menu -> Institutions
  -> Settings to each institution. However, the default themes in Mahara
  don't seem to provide the opportunity to have a small logo there per
  default, which makes it harder to theme because then no small logo
  could be uploaded via the theme.

  What should be possible?

  1. Add a small sitelogo (as SVG and PNG file) into the raw theme and
  other themes that contain a custom theme. That way, the logo would be
  picked up when the default themes are viewed. Logo files are provided
  below.

  We have several versions of the logo to account for dark backgrounds
  and light backgrounds in the configurable theme. Some of the other
  themes might also have their own version of the logo on the site to
  accommodate the background.

  2. When an institution uploaded a custom regular logo but no custom
  small logo, do not switch to the built-in small logo as that would
  change the brand. Keep the normal uploaded logo that gets a bit
  smaller.

  3. Rename "Small logo" in the institution settings to "Mobile logo" to
  make it more obvious that people should upload it. We can't force the
  upload of a logo though. A new language string ID needs to be created
  so that it's picked up by the translators.

  When an institution uploads a small logo that will be used instead.
  That already does work.

  To summarize for what should be possible in the end:
  A. No logo or mobile logo uploaded through the admin area: Use the theme's
logo and mobile logo.

  B.Logo uploaded through the admin area: Use that logo instead of the
  theme's logo. Use it also on mobile devices and do not switch to the
  theme's mobile logo.

  C. Logo and mobile logo uploaded through the admin area: Use both
  instead of the theme's logo and mobile logo.

Title:
  Processing hang occurs when saving content contains certain HTML tags

Status in Mahara:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  version = 2017092609;
  series = '17.10';
  release = '17.10.1';
  minupgradefrom = 2015030409;
  minupgraderelease = '15.04.0 (release tag 15.04.0_RELEASE)';

  Processing hang occurs when saving content pasted from Google Docs or
  external source

  Details:

  Where does this happen?
  When adding/editing content in a portfolio

  What happens?
  Clicking on "Save" button shows "Processing..." but hangs (403) when
pre-formatted content pasted from an external source, i.e. Google Docs, Gmail,
Microsoft Word (less often), etc.
  In addition, if using Mahara's editor only, this will occur if you do things
such as change the font size.

  Observations:
  - Noticed that this will happen when span tags and li (with style attributes)
are involved.

  Workarounds:
  - Paste as unformatted text, and make formatting changes from within Mahara.
  - Or avoid (strip out) span or li (with style attributes) tags.

  Other comments:
  Previously, users have been able to do this without issues. If they are to
make simple edits to content that originated from an external source like
Google, they risk not being able to save their changes. The quick workaround is
to copy and paste into a new content area (like mentioned in the workaround).
The existing content, while can be displayed, may not be edited successfully
unless the offending tags are stripped.

Status in Mahara:

Bug description:
  Mahara 18.10 master

  You can add a base64 encoded image to a text field such as a comment. This
functionality was introduced when addressing this issue:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/1742590
  The maxLength attr for the field was altered to accept up to 1 million
characters allowing a base64 image to be able to be added to a comment. After
the comment is saved, editing the comment by viewing the source code reveals
that the image has been converted into a blob, i.e: http://mahara/ce5b1d93-d955-49bb-8f6b-1a6e12a7d509"; alt="Z" />. When
you delete the comment a warning is produced:

  Misplaced DOCTYPE declaration in Entity, line: 1 (please see attached
  screen shot)

Title:
  Change the page header area

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
  A while ago, we posted a proposal for making changes to the page look
  at

https://wiki.mahara.org/wiki/Developer_Area/Specifications_in_Development/Page_layout_revision

  As first task (for Mahara 19.04), we are going to change the page
  header area to draw more attention to the page title, allow for space
  to have a banner background behind the collection and page titles and
  to de-emphasize the action buttons without losing them.

  Future plans involve adding an "Assessment" mode, but that will be
  tackled for Mahara 19.10. We will also leave all metadata where it is
  for the time being, i.e. not remove the "Details" links.

  The changes right now are:

  - Allow for a full-width page header container so that a background color can
go across the entire screen. The actual page width is still capped (important
for large screens).
  - The action buttons reside at the right edge of the screen and stay put as
the page is scrolled.
  - For the time being, the header background color is set in the theme. In a
future phase (post 19.04), it can be set in the page settings and an image
could also be uploaded for this area (we'd need to ensure that it can either be
cropped or moved for best results etc.).

  Note: The buttons on the right-hand side would have tool tips with
  their actions as words to help let people know what they mean (and
  also have screenreader text).

Title:
  Change the page header area

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress
