Re: [MlMt] Junk folder gets messages when Sieve unchecked
I have exactly one IMAP account: Fastmail. Under Sources, I see Spam. I do not see Junk. Under Mailboxes, I see Spam and Junk. Both of these are seen as Junk by MailMate when I look at their Type. You can think of the folder MailMate calls Junk as a kind of overlay over all the folders of type junk on all your accounts -- whether they're called spam, junk, or something else. If you have multiple junk folders, MailMate's Junk folder will expand and you'll see individual accounts' designated spam folders underneath it. It sounds like a local Mailbox Junk got assigned the type of Junk (or Spam got renamed locally) and it is mapped onto the standard (for that server) mailbox Spam on the server. Okay. Here's what I see. I have a Spam folder on Fastmail server. In MailMate its Type is Junk. I have a Junk folder in MailMate that is not on Fastmail server. In MailMate its Type is Junk. I now see identical messages in both folders. Re: [MlMt] Junk folder gets messages when Sieve unchecked
An IMAP server normally should have a junk mailbox. Whether it is called junk, spam, or else depends on the server. Have you checked in the sources the mailbox types for the source mailboxes? It is an item in the popup menu when you right-click on one of the folders in a source. You should have a mailbox for each of the special types set. You may want to first check your subscription to see whether by accident some mailboxes are not subscribed to. It is only a local folder created by MailMate. That seems to suggest the only way it got there is via MailMate itself. There's no such thing as a local *real* folder created by MailMate, so that must be a "Smart Folder" whose contents are defined by some logical definition, drawing messages from some set of source folders that exist on the IMAP server. MailMate does include by default a "Junk" Smart Folder that includes all messages from whatever server-side folders you've labeled (or MM has labeled by default) as having a "Mailbox Type" of "Junk" across all accounts. If there's not a top-level folder named "Junk" on the server side, I expect that MM would see one named "Spam" as the right folder to include in the "Junk" Smart Folder. So my *revised* theory is that your Spam folder on the Fastmail server is set in MM as the Junk-type folder for that account, that they in fact did put the message in Spam, and you moved it elsewhere before noticing that it had been in Spam (which is down in the Sources section of the mailbox list where you might not see it.) Re: [MlMt] Junk folder gets messages when Sieve unchecked
OK - I wasn’t quite right - image checking does work with spam in that you can configure the spam score that will inform the image checking process. That said, I checked several of the messages in my Junk boxes and none of them have that same header information. What you posted looks like server side spam checking like SpamAssassin or similar… - - - On 25 Jul 2021, at 17:19, Antonio Leding wrote: Ahhh - I believe that regardless of what the SpamSieve setting is, that when image checking is enabled, it will always check for spam.
