MI ? regarding geocoding to zip centriod using mapmarker OCX
I have a question regarding mapinfo's mapmarker OCX. I work with a software company that has developed an app. that embeds the mapmarker OCX to enable geocoding on DB's. My question pertains to geocoding to a Zip code centroid level. When geocoding to the Zip code centroid are there specific required fields that the OCX requires other than just the zip code? In our app presently you cannot geocode to a zip code centroid unless you have a street, city, state zip. I believe that iS that a function of our app. I have run some tests of geocoding to the zip code centroid through mapmarker itself and all I have needed is a DB containing zip codes. I wasn't sure if the OCX ran the same way or if it was a function of how we wrote the code to geocode to zip centroids. MI Utiltiy to find out what objects reside in a polygon
I am trying to find out if there is a utility of somekind that will update a file with what objects reside in a particular region/polygon? Basically I have a bunch of points on a map and I am overlaying a grid (130 boxes). I want to be able to find out what points reside in each grid box and then place the result in the particular table. -- To unsubscribe from this list, send e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and put "unsubscribe MAPINFO-L" in the message body, or contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
MI converting a DXF file into a grid with polygons
I received a DXF file (CAD drawing of a grid) that is a bunch of individual line segements. I have used the Universal Translator to convert the file into a mapinfo TAB format that can be viewed in Mapinfo Pro. I am trying to convert the grid into regions/polygons. I know there is a convert to polyline convert to region however, when I attempt to select the oject and convert it I am not able to create regions/polygons. Is there some other way or a utiltiy that I can convert the line segements into regions/polygons? -- To unsubscribe from this list, send e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and put "unsubscribe MAPINFO-L" in the message body, or contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
MI ? regarding creating a grid
I wanted to find out if there is a mapinfo utility to generate a grid to identify how many objects lie within a specific coord. (I'm looking for something very similar to a paper map type grid, e.g. B-1 or C-7). If there is then can the you setup grid parameters ( Degree intervals per box and or seconds) ? -- To unsubscribe from this list, send e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and put "unsubscribe MAPINFO-L" in the message body, or contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
MI ? converting a file into a mapinfo formated file
ITo mapinfo users, I wanted to find out if through mapinfo pro or through some of utiltiy if there was a way to convert a shape file into a mapinfo formated file. I received an email from a GIS company that has some maps that are in Arcinfo format (.shp, .shx, .e00 .dbf) I was hoping to take the shape file or one of the others and be able to convert it info a Mapinfo formated file. Is this possible and if so can I do it directly in Mapinfo Pro or do I need a special utility? MI Mapinfo utility to shift geocoded points
I wanted to find out if there is a MB utility of somekind that will jitter (shift) a bunch of geocoded points that are stacked on top of one another due to being geocoded to a a zipcode centroid etc. I do a tremendous amount of batch geocoding and when there are records that do not have very clean addresses they get geocoded to Zip code centroid and in order to identify how many there are I have to click on the info tool button. What I would like to do is shift/jitter those points that are stacked on top of one another just a shade so that I can have an easier time identifying how many and then click on an individual point and move if rather than having to pull the points one at a time off the top of the stack.
