ಹೃದಯವು ಬೆನ್ನೆಲುಬುಳ್ಳ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ರಕ್ತದ ಸಂಚಲನೆಯನ್ನು ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವ ಒಂದು
ಸ್ನಾಯು ವಿಧದ ಅಂಗ. [೧]

ಇದು ಎದೆಯ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಇದೆ. ಹೃದಯ ಸ್ನಾಯುಗಳ ಗೋಡೆಗಳು
ನಿರ್ಜೀವವಾಗಿವೆ. ವಯಸ್ಕ ಮಾನವನ ಹೃದಯ 250 ಮತ್ತು 350 ಗ್ರಾಂ ನಷ್ಟು ದ್ರವ್ಯರಾಶಿ
ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಮುಷ್ಟಿ ಗಾತ್ರದ ಅಂಗ.

ಇದು ಹೃದಯಾವರಣ ಎಂಬ ಎರಡು ಪದರದ ಚೀಲದಿಂದ ಆವರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ.

ಮಾನವ ಹೃದಯದ ಹೊರಗಿನ ಗೋಡೆಯು ಮೂರು ಪದರಗಳಿಂದ ರಚಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ: ಒಳಪದರ, ಸ್ನಾಯುಪದರ,
ಮತ್ತು ಮೇಲ್ಪದರ. ಸ್ನಾಯುಪದರ ಅಂದರೆ ಹೃದಯದ ಸ್ನಾಯು. ಒಳಪದರವು ಹೃದಯದ ಕೋಷ್ಠಗಳು ಮತ್ತು
ಕವಾಟಗಳನ್ನು ಆವರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಮಾನವ ಹೃದಯವು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಕೋಷ್ಠಗಳಾಗಿ ವಿಭಜಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತದೆ: ಎರಡು ಹೃತ್ಕರ್ಣಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಎರಡು
ಹೃತ್ಕುಹರಗಳು. ಹೃತ್ಕರ್ಣಗಳು ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುವ ಕೋಷ್ಠಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಕುಹರಗಳು
ಒತ್ತಿನೂಕುವ ಕೋಷ್ಠಗಳು.

ಹೃದಯ ಆವರ್ತನವು ಸಂಕುಚನ ಮತ್ತು ವ್ಯಾಕೋಚನ ಮತ್ತು ಮಧ್ಯದ ವಿರಾಮವನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ಒಂದು
ಪೂರ್ಣ ಹೃದಯಬಡಿತವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ರಕ್ತದ ಪರಿಚಲನೆ ದೇಹಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ದೇಹದಿಂದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತ ಪರಿಚಲನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ವಾಸಕೋಶಗಳಿಗೆ
ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ವಾಸಕೋಶಗಳಿಂದ ಪಲ್ಮನರಿ ಪರಿಚಲನೆಯನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ರಕ್ತವು ಬಲ ಮತ್ತು ಎಡ
