Rusty had no parts. Neither does Gary or anyone else. All these businesses are drop ship, often from all the same places. There is no way for the small guy to stock such a huge number of parts. This is what worldpac is, a huge importer and distributor of parts. And there are many other businesses that do the same. There are exceptions, like AutohausAZ I think... they import some things themselves, which is why they're so cheap. At least thats how it used to be, not sure now. In addition the closed sunroof sits slightly lower than the roof line. When the car is parked on an downward incline we think it's possible during a heavy rain the drain hole might not be able to keep up with the water flow. This might cause the track to overflow which leaks down the A pillar. When a steady stream of water is fed directly in the drain hole there is no leak. Any thoughts on his theory? I am trying to locate the gasket which surrounds the sunroof roof hole and the gasket on the sunroof itself. Any diagrams or part numbers? Hopefully this will fix the problem. This is not about pro or anti Gary, you stated he is a good man, I disagreed based on how he behaves towards others. We cut him plenty of slack when he was having his melt down and gave him more than one chance to calm down and play nice. He didn't so got got the boot. Now that he is in a position to quietly have the last laugh, he once again shows his true nature of vindictiveness. Instead of professionally using this opportunity to gain market share in the parts biz, he slanders people and businesses, essentially destroying the buymbparts.biz brand name and in my view, by doing that, dirtying his own name as well. Sure he might be good at getting the right part from a warehouse to your house and if that is what is most important to people that is up to them. Hendrik who is not that vindictive HEAR HEAR! [MBZ] Wilton, watch out for that ice!
My scooter is a fairly small 3-wheeler shown in this link: BTW, I've never used the silly basket; it's amazing what I can pile on the deck under/between my legs, etc., when I go shopping at Sam's; 'been threatening to build a trailer for it. http://www.shoprider.com/category/scooters/cooper.php When I was considering getting one nine years ago, friends kept telling me I needed to get a van with electric lift and one of those big power chairs. I kept telling them that I don't want an electric Barcalounger; just want a small one that I can keep in trunk of my MB and can disassemble/assemble by myself. 'Went to local mobility equipment/scooter store several times and kept coming back to this one because of its compactness ease of assembly just drop the parts in place, etc. I had asked salesman to demonstrate how it comes apart, etc. Then he got all excited when I got down on floor beside it myself and started disassembling it into its 4 very manageable parts - trying to help me up and saying, Oh, let me do that for you, etc. I responded, No, thank you, I must be able to do it myself. You're not going to be with me when I need to get it out of the car and assemble it or to disassemble it and put it back. Assembly/disassembly takes me about 30 seconds. (#1 Grndson h as timed me 3 or 4 times.) Price tag on it said $1995. Salesman kept telling me that it was not approved for purchase by Medicare, though. Meanwhile, across town, I found one at another store for $900, but they wouldn't deal with Medicare. Yes, same scooter, brand new, and I was prepared to just go ahead and buy it, but before that, I called Medicare and asked why this scooter was not approved by Medicare. Lady answered, It's approved; here's the approval #. 'Got the lady's name and phone # and went back to salesman at first scooter store. Told salesman, Medicare lady says it's approved; call her at this #. 'Took the scooter home. Medicare probably paid $1995. I coulda bought same scooter outright across town for $900. Re: [MBZ] Wilton, watch out for that ice!
10 or 12 years ago, I was driving my '81 300D several blocks from here; stopped at bank ATM, and, as I waited to pull back out into street, city po-po came along from left on the street I was entering, slowed and waved me into the street in front of him. I waved a thank you, pulled out into the street to the right in front of him and immediately put left turn signal on and eased into left turn lane. Po-po eased into left turn lane behind me. Almost immediately after we made the left turn, blue lights came on. I thought, What the ---? As po-po approached, I got out and asked 'im as he approached, Good morning officer, what's the problem? (It was before I started using a stick or any walking aid, so I was sort of touching side of car for added stability.) Po-po said, Your registration has expired. I exclaimed, What?! and stepped to the rear of the car to intently study the license plate. I studied the plate a few seconds and said, It does say 'May last year.' (It was now July.) At first I was thinking, This can't be; how could this be? I began to remember slowly and said to po-po, But I remember buying it a coupla months ago. Oh! I know where it (sticker) is! It's at home on my desk! I didn't put it on immediately because of my tremor. I was gonna get wife to help me with it and forgot it. Thank you, Sir; I'll go put it on right now. Without waiting for 'im to say any more or to write ticket, etc., I got back in car, and, as I was about to drive away, po-po said, You know, don't you, that's usually a $125 or so ticket. My reply, Yes, I know. Thank you, Sir. 'Drove few blocks home, got other car and proceeded with the business that had been interrupted. SWMBO put the sticker on that evening. I take mild offence at this, I was not stating my viewpoint on Gary as an attempt to stir up emotions within the list. What I said was partly a response to Jaime’s viewpoint and also serve as a warning that if Gary Hurst came back on the list he may well use the opportunity to re-visit the split with Rusty. [MBZ] Kill My Children
I injured by back in the garden and was unqualified to remove the hard top on Frosch for the season. I figure having two strapping boys (idiots, it turns out) on hand I could just use them. I got the front unhooked and pulled the crank to release the rear latch, which freed the top for removal. Had the big boy on the street and the smaller one (13) at the kerb to allow it to be level going back toward the waiting cart. I told them to pull up and then hold it straight and stead, then to slowly advance along the rear to the cart. Smaller one decided to think, instead of act, and the larger moved faster than him, so the top is sitting an inch above the deck as they move, it twists and gouges out the paint on the smaller boy side. Abrasion on the larger child side at the fender edge to the trunk. Now it looks like a bear mauled the top cover. Claw marks go to the primer/base in some places and are almost six inches long. Anybody have a reasonably simple approach to repairing this? I am not looking for a pristine, body shop job. Just want to fill the gash level, then apply a coat of paint (DB 861) and mayhap some clear to keep the car from rusting. The car will get repainted at a much later date. clay 1974 450sl - Frosch - Two tone green 1972 220D - Gump - She was green, simple and ran 1995 E300D - Gave her life to save me against a Dame in a SUV POS 1987 SDL - Beware Nigerian Scammers ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Hendrik, Please take this in the spirit that it is intended: Your comments regarding the situation are inflammatory at best. What you're not aware of are issues that date back years that I will not discuss in forum. I am not excusing Gary's behaviors - I am just saying that there is far more to the situation than you are aware of, which makes it difficult to speak authoritatively about it other than from the point of view of what you have experienced directly in the recent past. Having known both Rusty and Gary for upwards of 15 years, I have some personal insight into the situation that makes it a bit easier to understand. There are other list members who have similar experience, and they have not joined in as they are, no doubt, equally informed. I am not taking sides - just asking for some restraint from those who don't know the long term history, that's all. Re: [MBZ] Wilton, watch out for that ice!
Good one! Don't think I could pull off something like that. Gerry From: WILTON wilt...@nc.rr.com 10 or 12 years ago, I was driving my '81 300D several blocks from here; stopped at bank ATM, and, as I waited to pull back out into street, city po-po came along from left on the street I was entering, slowed and waved me into the street in front of him. Many years ago an anatomy professor at a northern med school picked up a lion that had died at the local zoo. He had the attendants lay the dead lion over the passengers seat of his model A convertible. On the way back to med school a policeman stopped him and asked, What have you got there? A lion, of course., replied the professor and drove off leaving the policeman standing in the road. He ran him down naturally but I never heard if he was given a ticket. Re: [MBZ] Kill My Children
Anybody have a reasonably simple approach to repairing this? I found a disabled guy who paints in his garage when he feels up to it. The severe paint problems on Ethelred were dealt with for $300 and a case of beer. He used custom-matched paint, and the job utterly transformed the car. No, it was far from perfect (dust). But it was well worth what I paid. I'd use him more, but his back has gotten worse and he only does small jobs now. He might do your job, but the car'd have to be here, of course. -- Jim ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
