Just to clarify, I've had my wholesale account with Mercedes Benz of Tampa for nearly 20 years. I've always gone to them over the years when they were competitive. The really nice thing is that they empower their employees to do whatever is necessary to get the business when possible. For example, I called earlier this week about MB ATF. They told me wholesale was around $14/liter, but they looked on the Internet and saw others were selling it for less, so they gave me the lower price. How many dealers do that? Dan Obviously they skipped class on the day the MomBusa MBA bowties had the "maximizing profit" class for stealers. ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

[MBZ] Coolant level sensor failure?
I think the coolant level sensor has begun failing in my 95 124.131. The light in the dash periodically comes on, but the coolant level in the overflow tank is fine. Anyone else suffer this failure? Is there also a circuit in the instrument cluster, similar to the oil level sensor, that might be at fault? Light doesn't flicker, just comes on for a bit, maybe ten or twenty seconds, then goes off. -- Max Dillon Charleston SC '87 300TD '95 E300 ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Nixon had to resign over 18 min of erased tape, that was not even official record. Petraus (SP?) was hung out to dry because someone without clearance may have seen his computer screen. Holder the gunrunner was not an AG, just a thug. the current occupant is not an AG either, just another thug. THey are just pawns of the thug in chief. Maybe someone (Oh Andrew!) can call pillery and tell'er that I have a server available that won't be in a bathroom for rent. I'd be so lucky to end up at the brig, worked there for four years. Military only go there, I'd end up at some federal pen. Unfortunately B. Re: [MBZ] Starter motor
I have used Rock Auto for a number of hard parts over the last year or so and been very pleased with them. Last one was a rebuilt front caliper for the 98 S420 Tommymobile. The price was good and the core return process quite simple. I also like their close out setup with the RSS feeds. I get a heads up on anything they're closing out for specific vehicles. I've scored some good deals this way several times. The only issue I have had with them was buying some close out NOS shocks that were listed as Bilstein and ended up being Meyle. I called, talked to a an English speaking support person in Madison, WI, who promptly issued credit and sent a prepaid call tag to return them. I noticed they changed the part description a few days later. In fairness to them, the sticker on the boxes said, "Replacement for Bilstein ". Without Rusty, there is no one stop... I paid 25+ to rm for a trans mount (124) a month or so ago, and last night I saw crockauto had a febi for under $9. Biggest problem with crockauto is the shipping cost can be exorbitant. RMeuro has easy free shipping, so is often cheaper total than crock, especially for 1-3 items. ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com -- "Das beste oder nichts." - *Gottlieb Daimler* ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Re: [MBZ] Starter motor
Just to clarify, I've had my wholesale account with Mercedes Benz of Tampa for nearly 20 years. I've always gone to them over the years when they were competitive. The really nice thing is that they empower their employees to do whatever is necessary to get the business when possible. For example, I called earlier this week about MB ATF. They told me wholesale was around $14/liter, but they looked on the Internet and saw others were selling it for less, so they gave me the lower price. How many dealers do that? Re: [MBZ] 124 tachometers
Is the switch the same as on an '85 201? Send me a picture. I kept the pair I'd bought for my '85 190D, I *think* I even know where they are. I paid big money for them from Q back in uhhh, '05 I think when I got that car. -Curt From: Curly McLain via MercedesTo: Mercedes Discussion List Cc: Curly McLain <126die...@gmail.com> Sent: Thursday, January 7, 2016 5:37 PM Subject: Re: [MBZ] 124 tachometers I pulled the plug from the EDS computer. I found the tach signal voltage in the plug to the computer, but I have no signal out of the computer. According to the ETM, the output is pin 25, but I see no pin for input. There is no ID of pins in the computer or in the plug. Has anyone seen any pinout for the ESD Computer? I could run a jumper to the tach from the plug to check the tach, I suppose. or swap out the EDS Computer or dig into the harness and find the white/ in and the black/red out and jump them. Next: to get a speedo cable Then I'll figure out which option. Since the EDS is disconnected, I'm thinking just jump the tach in to the tach out. [MBZ] Confusing start system problem
Question: I just finished putting a new backup/starter safety switch and the contact assembly on the back of the ignition module, in my '83 300D; but the starter still won't work. Turning the key all the way clockwise just lights up the preheat bulb. Since there hasn't been an ignition key spring return on start for some time, I suspect there might be something jammed in the mechanical part of the ignition assembly which can't be disassembled. A new mechanical part is expensive. Has anyone had experience with this problem? Yeah, I kinda dense - probably should have spent the money a year or two ago. But where to buy... I called all the local parts stores. No one could get me a Bosch rebuilt. Lots of "just a good as a Bosch" and such. I sure was spoiled with Rusty! After looking at a number of websites, I decide on RockAuto. It was pretty clear that I could really choose a Bosch rebuild SR67X. Equivalents were available, but were clearly marked as not Bosch. What cinched the deal for me was not only a very good price - but for the core return I could have them print a label on their account! The price is deducted from the core charge. So - for about $110 plus $45 core plus less than $15 shipping I got a starter. It works. Yea! And it was easy to get a label printed - and this heavy old starter is shipping halfway across the country for less than $15. I doubt I could have found a way to ship it for less $35. So far, I'm pretty happy with my dealings with RockAuto. -- Philip ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
