[MBZ] Admin, the mailing lists

Okiebenz is way over our allocated disk space.  As in, we supposedly 
have I believe 18gb or something like that and are currently using over 
40gb.  I am surprised the hosting company has not thrown a fit yet.  
Anyway, most of the space it taken up by nearly 15 years of the 
archives.  We also had several dead lists that have not been used in 
many years.  I deleted these lists which included banned lite, vets, SL, 
linux, and a couple of others.  The remaining lists are still sucking up 
quite a bit of space.  I have contemplated moving to a new company as I 
see them advertised with no set storage space amount or something to 
that effect.  I am not sure what their definition of what is excessive 
though and it makes me nervous.  So, now it comes down to the archives.  
Does anybody actually access the raw archives on the server like this 
example for the MB list:

We also maintain a list archive via on online searchable database here:

The raw archives are not searchable, you just have to go into whatever 
month you want and you can sort by thread, author etc.  I am thinking 
about downloading the .txt files which appear to be much smaller than 
the actual archive files.  This should free up a lot of space.


So that is my question to everyone, does anybody see a problem with 
this?  I just want to make sure it is not a valuable resource people are 
using, since it is pretty much duplicated with the online searchable 
database anyway.

interesting. Car seems nice. So who all here has owned cars that used to be 
owned by famous people. And go!  I will start. My 2nd car I owned was a 83 300D 
that used to be owned by George Frazier. My 4th car was a 83 380SEL that was 
originally owned by Al Hirt.

Just to give you an idea of how bad an idea that is and the real estate 
market in this town, you can on a regular basis buy empty lots in town 
for back taxes for about $400.  So if a person just wanted a lot to 
build a new house on, there are way cheaper ways to do it.

[MBZ] OT backyards and Trees

I came home last night and a VERY LARGE limb on one of my hedge trees had 
broken off.  Hedge (or Osage Orange) is so hard I have never seen large limbs 
break off from storms.  It wasn't storming yesterday anyway.  I got to looking 
at it and I think lightning may have struck the tree.  Some of the limbs look 
blackened.   I don't really have a question, just thought it was interesting.  
Now I have get the chain saws out this weekend and cut it up.  The small limbs 
are great for the fire pit and the big logs burn hot and long in the fireplace. 
 Of course, I am not going to need any firewood for months, but I can add it to 
the pile.
