Mild hybrid I think. Has a battery that regenerates from braking. Yeah like a Pious I think. I’ve seen a couple of them around here, beautiful cars but that stuff just adds complications on top of an already extremely complicated car. I went and looked at a $1200 91 300D yesterday in Lawrence KS. I might have picked it up but the wife has the truck this weekend and not sure when I could pick it up, or even if it’s worth it. It had no rust but had clear coat issues. Burgundy with parchment, same exact color combo as the one I had years ago that I sold to Toad, then bought back. I realized it was 31 years old. Geez it doesn’t seem possible 1991 was that long ago. Earlier today, I was headed up north of the KC area and I saw a burgundy 300D coming the other way. I think (well, must be) it was an option on the 320, standard on 500. Very simple system. If the fuses (one on left dash panel and one under hood block) and relay aren’t bad then a new air pump is <$100 and easy to swap in. Offer $2k, take fuses, relay, a pump and jack, fix it and drive it home. There are some things to get used to, for instance you dont turn the car off. You just put it into park and get out and walk away and it locks itself up. The screen is like learning a new software program. Works well for t gh e mostpart but not what I am looking for when I get in a car. It would be better with some manual a/c controls. The driver assist stuff is all helpful to keep you from running into stuff and make you aware of your surroundings. These cars are going to be involved in fewer acceidents than normal cars, for sure.
