The 450 and 445 are the only two saws I would consider. Anything else is a toy saw. For a trimming saw I'm going electric, never going back to a gas saw. They're lighter, don't vibrate as bad, quieter and safer because the chain stops a lot more quickly when you let go of the trigger. I do want to get a 6ah battery for it, I don't know how big the one we've got is, 3ah maybe. [MBZ] Speaking of power equipment
I need to get my riding mower sorted out here pretty quick as it will soon be mowing season. I decided to take a quick look at new mowers just to see. I am shocked and the cost of these things. I have a JD zero turn that my other gave me that needs some work but will get the job done, and my other one is a regular Scott (JD made) lawn tractor that my neighbor gave me. The last mower I bought new was something like $1200 or less maybe 10 year ago. Even the cheapest most basic one I see is around $2k. I see they also now have fully electric zero turns now. No thanks. I have sort of been keeping my eye open for an older Kubota diesel mower. 1250 is a "Quiet Line". It's still got a bulletproof Kohler engine but it's rubber mounted for "reduced vibration" which I think is bunk. This one is missing its side covers, most of them I've seen are. Hydrostatic, 12hp. Should be a good mower. Chains would make it pull the implements a lot better. I'd bring a battery or a boost pack I guess, if it turned over and seemed like it had compression it's probably worth the price.
