Things like a wood-grain ashtray that includes as much of the lighter assy. as necessary to get it working so I can use cel phone - I just have wires. The piece of wood trim that wraps around on the passenger side of dash. An antenna mast - whatever it would take to simply replace the mast and not worry about the motor. A spare steel wheel - 14'', and a jack assy. (though these might be best bought at boneyard to avoid high shipping?) I may be able to think of another few things. Rusty is the man for that. New ones are pretty darn cheap. Yeah, I looked around first and saw similar books for W113 and Adenauers going for $250+ and I figured this are Bus and Truck versions and couldn't find any others like it. Now in hindsight I expect they'll go back up lower with $79 BIN. Scarcity is only one half the high-price equation. Desirability is the other. Vince, your listings are rather decent, I must say (to quote Martin Short's Ed Grimsley character). One cavil, however. The rear doors on the 300TD wagon are larger than the 300D sedans, so it is UNlikely the rear door panel you're selling will fit both types of W123 diesel. If I am correct in this(there's always a first time) your should probably revise your listing. 1983 300td 1985 300cd Come to think of it, it could be my misperception, I've never actually tried to cross them, thanks for bringing it to my attention, I'll investigate. I'm not getting any insulting insinuation yet, but the critique is good for me I'm sure. Hell that's why I posted here. I know thre is much pride and discretion amongst this group, so it makes for a good reality check. It's my eleventh day, and the zero feedback is a bad indicator, but gotta start somewhere. (I've bought a few things to try to get the feedback up quicker, but haven't seen it yet.) Not all my parts are premium, sure, my goal is to at least provide informed discretion as to what one should really expect when it's in your hands. I guess I wanted to let it be known there is a man behind the eBayer trying to be considerate and not a half-baked extorting parts slinger...What's the saying? An informed consumer is our best customer? Well, maybe Up to 6 sales though and hopefully the feed back will be that I advertised correctly, shipped well, etc ...and give buyer confidence the part is for their car BEFORE they buy it. Re: [MBZ] Golly, I hope I'm not on crack
1983 300td 1985 300cd On 2/28/07, V Layton [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Other than some $100 manuals I see no crack I presume that those manuals have such a crazy small group that would be interested in them I can't even consider what they'd be priced at. -Curt Yeah, I looked around first and saw similar books for W113 and Adenauers going for $250+ and I figured this are Bus and Truck versions and couldn't find any others like it. Now in hindsight I expect they'll go back up lower with $79 BIN. Dissapointed when I found the bus service manuial incomplete, but got a 50% offer on it oh well. Re: [MBZ] Golly, I hope I'm not on crack
Hi Vince, Usually to be on crack I figure you need to over value something 3x or take lousy pictures, and/or totally ignore whats in the pictures in your description. Minor rust is a good one when you can see rust holes in the picture. Rusty turds that somebody wants $1000 for are a good example too. I should point out that smart sellers with stuff thats really worth money will start bidding for low money because it keeps your auction fees lower. This is an auction site starting the price higher in no way assures you to get a better price, in fact it may turn off alot of people and make them NOT bid on your auction. What you want to do is start your price low and get people hooked so they'll pay some obscene price because they don't want to lose... I had a guy once pay double list price for a carb kit because he got hung up on not losing the auction. I couldn't believe how crazy he went... -Curt Date: Tue, 27 Feb 2007 15:26:45 + From: V Layton [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [MBZ] Golly, I hope I'm not on crack To: mercedes@okiebenz.com Message-ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed Hello all, I know I'm not much of participating member of this list, but I do regularly check in on the messages and see what you're all up to, and enjoy reading many of your comments about various stuff. I guess I wanted to announce I've had to enter the eBay ring, and I've found some of you guys out there too. I know you guys tend to be pretty critical of various eBay listings, which, I must say you guys find some good laughable ones! But, sometimes I can't always figure what it is about some postings that qualify them as crack So, I hope I'm not on crack. I try to be accurate but may make little errors, and hopefully I reflect some competance out there. If you find my listings, you may see some prices are on the high side, due to being new, and over valuing the parts. I can't utilize Buy It Now yet and try to avoid reserves for the most part. But I also have some fine hard to find pieces I think deserve a premium. Well that's the free-market for you. I'll refrain from a totally shameless plug with a link to my eBay auctions, but wanted to establish a good repor with this group, as it seems to me if I can gain some credit in your eagle eyes, I must be doing ok.
