Re: [MBZ] How much do you all think this is worth?
There is easily $8k-$10k or more of "deferred maintenance" needed on this car. And that's not addressing the paint condition. There was a fairly nice W116 on MB Market last week: https://thembmarket.com/1980-mercedes-benz-300sd-1 [https://thembmarket.com/uploads/listings/ad7nb7/1980-300sd/listing-pics/photo-jun-14-2023-5-55-43-pm.jpeg]<https://thembmarket.com/1980-mercedes-benz-300sd-1> 41-years Owned 1980 Mercedes-Benz 300SD For Sale | The MB Market<https://thembmarket.com/1980-mercedes-benz-300sd-1> Bid for your chance to own this 1980 Mercedes-Benz 300SD on The MB Market. Finished in Astral Silver Metallic (735) over Black MB-Tex (101), this classic sedan is powered by a 3.0L turbodiesel engine paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission. thembmarket.com RNM at $6k. It needs things, too, but it's definitely better than Kaleb's in a lot of different ways. I think the market is starting to slow down for some of these "classics". -D From: Mercedes on behalf of Randy Bennell via Mercedes Sent: Monday, July 10, 2023 1:17 PM To: Kaleb Striplin via Mercedes Cc: Randy Bennell Subject: Re: [MBZ] How much do you all think this is worth? I know my AC compressor is locked up also. I'd be happy with just a way to turn the AC on and off, and manually regulate the heat and fan speed, like a standard 1979-era car would let you do. I really am capable of moving a lever if I get too warm or too cold. Yea, I really hate that. If I were to have any paint work done I will look into removing it. Re: [MBZ] How much do you all think this is worth?
It has had quite a bit of work done to it but still needs a fair amount. I am probably going to see about charging up the AC with a R12 replacement or convert to 134, replace the shocks and window seals and drive it every now and then. Might explore doing something about the paint on the horizontal surfaces. On 7/8/2023 4:13 PM, Allan Streib wrote: I think my 300SD also feels very nice on the highway.
