Piezio to me was: hit a rock, generate a spark. This would be the opposite; provide a spark will move a valve, a glorified solenoid valve. These electronic injectors are so quick that they permit 3 to 5 firings per power stroke, which controls the severity of the flame front travel and gets more power while reducing the noise level and emissions. They respond (open and close) much faster, allowing more control of the injection cycle.
