[MBZ] OT: internet-controlled shotgun array discovered in Georgia
Apparently the landowner had put together a prototype system of web cameras and shotguns to try to suppress feral hogs in his food plot. I'm wondering if the headline is misleading... are remote controlled guns themselves illegal, or is it illegal to hunt with remote controlled weapons? http://chronicle.augusta.com/sports/outdoors/rob-pavey/2011-01-15/web-controlled-guns-are-illegal Allan -- Allan Streib ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

So this deal was on private property, there was no actual activity going on, no indication that it was actually set up to do what was alleged, the guns were legal, and the setup was dismantled before any authorities showed up (on private property). I wonder if anyone is aware of something called the Constitution of the United States of America, in particular its 4th Amendment? Homeland Security is involved, a comforting thought. --R On 1/16/2011 1:28 PM, Allan Streib wrote: Apparently the landowner had put together a prototype system of web cameras and shotguns to try to suppress feral hogs in his food plot. Re: [MBZ] OT: internet-controlled shotgun array discovered in Georgia
Perhaps the extended shell tubes made the shotguns illegal - we're limited to three shells while hunting waterfowl. Some animals aren't considered game, are are in 'open season' all year long (crows, coyotes) - feral hogs might not fall into that category though. Otherwise, I think it's a great idea! Feral hogs are becoming something of a pest in the southeast, I think. I don't know if there is a formal season on them or not...
