My ISP blocks port 25 and I use port 1025. Works fine for me.

I'll probably register a domain for my EA firm and run all my outgoing email

Thanks.
I did the Google, didn't find any workarounds, but I found a corecom
tech support page which said I should be using authmail.core.com
when I had been using mail.voyager.net. I sent a text message, it
asked me for my password, and it went through, no messing with
the port setting.

The bad news is that my ISP blocks outgoing email that doesn't
originate on their network, so I have to log off the EVDO and
log on to dial-up to send email.
 Mitch.

If you register a domain with Godaddy.com, you get one email
address for free. It includes an SMTP server that is listening
on port 80. Thus if you can browse, you can send mail. *grin*

tax to activate. (at least I got a referral from my cousin so
she gets a $25 credit on her next bill, anybody who wants an

This beats dial-up speeds by a wide margin:

You just need to find a different SMTP server. Does Alltel give you an
email address? If so you could use the SMTP server, but not their email.

A gmail address does not necessarily mean the mail is on a
google drive.

I use a gmail address and collect it via POP3. It is on google's
server for the time between SMTP delivery and my POP3 collection.
