The more people you put between yourself and the work you're trying to get done, the more chance for screw ups. Throw in language differences, questionable reliability of communication systems, work ethics, and outsourcing for anything of any importance is a disaster waiting to happen, in my opinion. There is no money to be saved in the end, it's all a false economy. Remember what our parents taught us, you get what you pay for. This is cracking me up - here is why. Yesterday a fellow medical practice manager shared that his physicians were going to begin using a transcription service in pakistan. The administrator said he knows its not going to work, but has to try it as its 1/2 price to apease the physicians he is working with. He is sure it will have more blanks on each dictation and that all the physician time will be spent correcting them. Better not use Chinese transcriptionists, they would all be wondering why all these old guys want to have long-lasting elections on demand. --R On 2/11/2011 3:16 PM, Peter Hertzing wrote: This is cracking me up - here is why. There was a Dilbert comic this week, along similar lines, but it was auto-correct instead of outsourced transcription. :P Walt On Fri, Feb 11, 2011 at 3:16 PM, Peter Hertzing phertz...@gmail.com wrote: This is cracking me up - here is why. We don't see that line of logical train, but everyone else in the world sees that train of logic and is taunting us in every imaginable way today. Think it through.
