Re: [MBZ] Selling my 67 Diesel Fintail
Ed, Is there something different as far as mortgages up your way compared to how we do things in the States? I ask because I seem to recall that you could only take out a mortgage for a fairly short period (5 years?) when I had a friend and business associate who was being relocated to Canada. He was responsible for the western portion of Canada, and believe it or not, was seriously considering buying a home in Canmore, AB, until something came up regarding mortgages and a significant risk/expense. This was in the early 90s, so it may have been the market that was scaring him. Ultimately, the company relocated him to Bellingham, WA, which isn't in the Canadian Rockies, but a nice place none the less. Whoever buys this needs to drive over to CAN 93 and take it down the Icefields Parkway. Absolutely spectacular drive. Did it back in the 90's in October, and was blessed with warm weather and gorgeous sunshine the whole trip. Re: [MBZ] Selling my 67 Diesel Fintail
Ok, a little personal time with Ed. I actually get paid about 20% above anyone else in my field. One of the ways my employer retains people. About 9 years ago I trusted a realtor to find me a house I could afford. The realtor in turn found me a house they could get me financed. All looked good on paper until after I signed and was taught the word escrow. A bit more than 50% of my monthly income goes to the house. Don't even have the money for upkeep right now, so I can't even get out from underneath it, especially in this economy. It's not all bad, I can keep food on the table for my family and clothes on the backs of my ever growing children. I swear, I think they have some kind of mutant DNA, they just don't stop. But putting money aside to save it for other projects is problematic. I think I'm going to have to find something I can do on the side that doesn't mind working with my hours, and since I work in a 24/7 environment with rotating shifts, most alternate part time employers don't like hearing If my main job tells me I have to pick up a shift, I have to pick up a shift. Though I do apologize for complaining so much about my life. I obviously do it more than I realize if listers are saying There goes Po'boy Ed again, looking to pay on Wednesday for a hamburger today. I'll try to ease up on that some.
