Well Im not old I have seen the price go down. I do recall very clearly here that the day of 911 the price went up to as high as 1.79(that was VERY high then), maybe higher. Then it started going down and it actually got down to as low as .79 a gallon here for a week or so. Then slowly sort of stabilized at 1.09 or so. Gabriel S. wrote: 2 Questions: 1. I'm not one of the older guys, but I have. I remember not too many years ago 87 octane fell below a buck a gallon for a while, but before that, I remember when the price came down after the crunch in the early eighties. 2. I'm not aware of any (and yes, I still spend time in socal), but the only car club I'm a 'member' of is not necessarily mainstream, and it's up in the bay area. But as far as diesel, who'd want to follow a diesel? Kinda kills off the idea of a cruise :) K
