The Philips/Fluke Scopemeter is small, and very capable.  It's also real
test equipment, and not Chinesium.

I'm still looking, sporadically, for one at a price I can tolerate.

I can't justify the space and expense of a "standard" o-scope, but there 
are times when one might answer a question.   Being made of unobtainium 
makes them less desirable also.

They’re around here, too. The big Tektronics tube ones on the angled 
carts. I see them pretty regularly. Great when you need one, a massive 
PITA to keep and store. I can’t justify having one around, it would 
take up critical space.

I bought a Tek 475 (200 MHz) at Goodwill for $40.  I I have been given a
Tek 2336 (100 MHz), Tek 561A (10 MHz, tubes), Tek 7623A (100 MHz, storage),
and Tek 7633 (100 MHz, storage).  They're out there.  That older 561A is a
work of art inside.  Either of the first two would be an excellent choice
for anybody to use, for just about anything a non-engineer would be likely
to need.  Service manuals for all are available.

Still probably beats paying hundreds of an old Tektronics scope that is 
made of unobtanium.   It just won't work for UHF/VHF ranges.  There has 
to be a way to build an adaptacator to feed UHF/VHF to it in a way it 
can understand.   The expensive scopes all have ranges.

I know you can pick up the signal with a MM set to AC, but I don't know 
what the Freq would be.
