Re: [MBZ] 123 and older reman interior parts from Reinvent the Wheel (no affiliation, etc.)

2019-02-22 Thread Dan--- via Mercedes
Look at his eBay page that I posted. His eBay handle is “Selo114”, I believe.

It’s the padded part of the dash, complete.

There are guys in SoCal who “restore” dashes. I mentioned them, too. 6 months
lead time and $1600 for the dash pad. Thanks, I’ll pass.

If it is the bimboautomotiv guy, they make great rubber mirror boots for
w124 cars for about 30 bucks a set also.

I thought there was someone stateside who recovers dashboards. Pierre
mentioned them in a vid.

When we were rebuilding a 55 chevy in our backyard in Riyadh, we got lots

The top side of the dash on my W116 300SD is pretty badly cracked. UV
exposure off and on for 40 years I suppose.

When you say "dash pad" are you talking about a cover of some kind?

Mike,

This is the guy’s eBay store:

https://www.ebay.com/str/w114selo?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

His name is Selahattin, and he’s well known in the Finnie community as a
reputable source for a lot of products that has been around for a number of
years. I was initially reluctant to spend $1,000 on a dash pad I knew nothing
about, but a number of his former customers assured me that I would be happy
with his service and products.

I am, very much so.

You’re welcome to email me directly with more questions or Selo’s email
address. He responds promptly via eBay messaging, too, but do consider cultural
differences - that is, his weekend is Friday and Saturday.

Re: [MBZ] 123 and older reman interior parts from Reinvent the Wheel (no affiliation, etc.)

2019-02-21 Thread Dan--- via Mercedes
I can put you in direct contact with the guy in Turkey who is making these if
you’re interested. I just bought a new dash pad for my W111 from him and I’m
very pleased. Ordered it on a Monday and got it on Thursday.

Not only that, but you’ll save about $250 buying direct from him. Reinvent the
Wheel tends to be a serious ripoff when it comes to prices in my opinion.
