NO! Not _any_ type! Bon-ami is feldspar and limestone, which is 'soft'
compared
to, say, Comet. Designed to not scratch porcelain. Barkeeper's friend
is oxalic acid and feldspar. Both excellent products, but be careful!

Bon-Ami, Barkeeper’s Friend, any type of abrasive cleaner will do a good job on
glass. Not sure of the abrasive “size”, but it’s all pretty fine.

I remember Marshall saying to use Bonami cleanser for cleaning windshields.
I've tried that with a felt pad on a buffer with decent results. I wonder what
grit that is?

I would probably try rubbing compound first just for grins. It’s pretty
aggressive, but shouldn’t do any damage. There are other compounds that are
finer that would probably work,too.

Yeah, the cerium oxide is really fine but very hard. I’ve never used it on
anything but glass.

The cerium oxide was more aggressive than the Meguiars Ultimate
compound, seemed to be about the same as 3000 grit
