Yer lookin at a ChrisCraft lapstrake Mahogany hull.   Probably rots a 
rot.A wonderful, very expensive boat when new.It  deserves to be

They make sense if you decide to cruise around the world or live aboard.
Otherwise its just a hole in the water into which you pour money.

The nicest ones are small and efficient. Power catamarans or similar that
do 20 kts on 20hp sipping fuel.

I would buy it, pull the side oiler 427's and have a bonfire with the rest. 
Someone building a Cobra replica or two will probably do that.

A (in this case, wood-lined) hole in the water into which you pour money.

Boats are like women, fun for awhile until the problems start then they 
cost you a lot (more) of money, then more when you try to get rid of them.


Run away, fast and far.

That said, those old Chris Crafts can be magnificent when restored, 
probably after a few $100k on that thing.  And those old 427s would suck 
expensive fuel at a prodigious rate, better to refit diesels (hey, you 
could do that part! MB power!)

Plus, devote every waking moment to working on it... Plus... hire help,
expensive cabinet maker carpenter help...
Plus... build your own land based dry dock to tear it down to bare bones
and replace all the rotted and damaged wood Plus buy every wood
working tool known to man, so you can make new components...
Plus the cost of a DIVORCE... because wives and boats in repair don't
mix

Then you need your own Semi Tractor to pull the boat and trailer to a
body of water large enough to float a 45' boat... AND pay dock fees to park
it at the lake or harbor... THEN travel expense to said body of water
each time you go to use the boat

Yeah.. BOAT... Bring Out Another Thousand ..
