Makes you wonder if component-level repair is possible.
Is there a common failure mode for this kind of thing?

Yeah, replacing the electronic control module will probably do the trick,
at a cost of at least $300. We had this problem with our old LG.

It sounds like the controller thinks the pump is jammed, so it won't run
the pump.

It's monitoring drive current. A blocked drain will cause the motor to work
harder.
Of course, if the current sensor is faulty...

the system know the difference between P/S and pump issues? There's
a limit to how much self-diagnosis is possible, especially if they're trying

About ten years ago I bought the cheapest dishwasher they had at lowers.  About
$200?  KitchenAid, all plastic.  Dirt simple.  Works great as long as you don't
over load it.  No issues once I worked through a bad pump and a dead control
board.  It was a factory repaired model that I bought for $100 with no
warranty, after buying the parts to fix it I was back at the original cost,
should have just bought the new one.

A double dish drawer?
Those can be problematic, especially when some fool puts stuff in them
that's too tall and prevents the internal lid from sealing.
I bought one with an error code for a leak, the other drawer was supposed
to work fine.

Then I bought a parts washer that was missing the front sheet metal.
I later learned the one that was 'missing parts' was really a model that
was made for custom install, your cabinetmaker is supposed to build a
front for it to match your cabinets. So the whole dishwasher project is on
hold until I get around to redoing the base cabinets, until then I've got
the Mitch washer. It's not that big of a deal now that there's just one of
me.
I do a sinkful of dishes every night, put them in a drainer, and they're
dry by breakfast.

With a little Bach or Vivaldi to enhance the experience.
I can highly recommend this device!

You need to be looking at the drain line to make sure it’s not crimped or

I just watched a few videos and pulled the screen out and the cover for the
pump inlet. There was nothing blocking it and the impeller turned free. Pulled
hose off the disposal and it was clear. Examined the hose down to the back and
bottom of the washer and it was clear. Maybe there is something jammed up in
the motor behind the impellers but they turn free. I’m not going to take it
apart any further and will just wait a couple of weeks until the home warranty

The Bosch machines, at least the ones I’ve had, all have a removable screen in

I love it too. I am wondering if the discharge line got plugged up. If it’s not
something simple then it will have to wait until the home warranty kicks in
next month.

Have you cleaned out the filtering screens in the bottom?

Nope. My Bosch dishwashers have been relatively trouble free. First one we had
developed some sort of problem with the heating element that was known and
covered under warranty. Second one has been installed since December and hasn’t
missed a beat. We loves our Bosch dishwasher!
