There probably is, but why? Half the charm of the car is the V12. With
 the
cost of diesel these days, it's often as cheap to run a V8 gasser now as
 a
diesel, as attested to by a few here. I think the V12 is about 30% worse
 on
gas than a V8 in real world driving. 400HP never comes cheap. An
 amazing
car, but if you're after great mileage, best to pass on anything that
 weighs
the same as a one bedroom condo.

They don't go for a lot of money, but the price does seem low. It must rank
as one of the best cars ever made. Last one I was in had the full AMG
treatment too. Not everyone liked the styling, but the quality and
attention to detail was the best I've ever seen in any car.

I always thought it was a beautiful car - like the SL but with the coupe
roof. - much better looking than the older W107s. Yuck -

But I don;t think I could afford to maintain and feed that V12.

There was a article in RT a while back about Affordable V12s. They
featured the V12 BMW, Jag and MB - might have been one more but cannot
remember what it was --

It's a great time to be shopping though. ;-) A top of the line Mercedes,
with a V12 engine to boot Somebody stop me!! lol. Just think, this car
is going for the price of a new set of nice rims, and they're throwing the
car in for free, and it's a really nice car. If it got 10 MPG, I think I
could justify it. :-)

Might work, I think the HP on a Lister is similar to that on the 240D and the
weight of the engine is about the
same. With that big flywheel, once you got it reved up, it would have momentum.

I can't recall, do the Listers have removable panels on both sides of the block
or just on the one side? If both
sides, you could swap the panels for some polycarbonate windows so that you
could look through the motor instead of
around it.

I think you should just go for it and post some photos.
