Re: [MBZ] Replacing Antenna Mast
Did you remove the threaded retention collaron the outside of the fender. It keeps the antenna from coming out? It'll try to overshoot and that's what gets it the rest of the way out. You don't just pull it out forcibly. When installing you start it down and feed it the tail. When it stops (not all the way in most likely) you put in the nut then cycle it up and down again and you're done. -- Jim ___ http://www.striplin.net For new parts see official list sponsor: http://www.buymbparts.com/ For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://striplin.net/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_striplin.net ___ http://www.striplin.net For new parts see official list sponsor: http://www.buymbparts.com/ For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://striplin.net/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_striplin.net

Hi Johnny, You wrote:run it up and before it stops get out there and catch it before it hits the side of the car pulling gently to remove the tail completely. That's the problem - it stops and *cannot* be removed - no worry about itjumping out - I've been pulling like crazy to get it out - it feels like it's hitting some kind of stop inside - clunk! I'm inclined to thing maybe I have something like Dwight Giles mentioned in his reply - he wrote:was trying to put a Rusty Hirschman mast into a made in china replacement motor. Re: [MBZ] Replacing Antenna Mast
Sounds like what happened to me-I was trying to put a Rusty Hirschman mast into a made in china replacement motor. I had to take the motor case apart and then finally went manual.
