I am not going to even try to understand grid iron, it seems they are 
always stopping, walking around for 5 minutes and then do another 20 
seconds of playing.

Guess it's the attention span of the average American?

The players kick the ball, run with it, pass it, tackle each other, 
etc.; all in sort of a haphazard way.

Meant to try and find the rules, but got busy and never did.

When did I rave about football, it is my favorite sport, but I don't
remember raving about it. I do have to say the rules seem allot easier to
understand than Rugby, It seams somebody is always off sides, throwing the
ball or getting tackled. And who ever heard of kicking the ball if it's not
the forth down, or for the extra points?
