Same problem with Massachusetts. Re: [MBZ] vermont title
Vermont wants a NADA value for 6% tax. NADA shows $5000 for a mid value 1980 240D! So vermont would want $300 tax for a $500 car. That is about 60% tax. Ouch. They tax on the boll of sale price or NADA mid value, whichever is HIGHER! My question is, where to I go to SELL a 1980 240D in need of paint, with dirty interior, no Air cond, and a plethora of work needed for $5000??? If vermont would pay me that much for it, I could go buy 2 nicer ones. Sheesh! Last 1980 240D reported to NADA was probably in 1995 or 2000. Back then they WOULD bring $5000 in running condition with a number of things needed to make it right. ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

that would work great if I was in TN. However, I'm not. I have no connections in TN as far as I know. Any chance your friends might help me get a title for a 123? Dan Penoff via Mercedes wrote on 5/7/19 8:39 AM: While working with this guy I’m helping with on a restoration for a W111, I found that TN has a deal for cars older than 30 years and worth less than $3,000 where you can just get an affidavit and they’ll issue a title. He bought a CA parts car he’s having shipped to TN where the restoration is taking place, and the seller in CA did’t have a pink slip. he bought it with a bill of sale and is shipping it to TN. The guy in TN will need a title to dispose of the carcass when he’s done picking it over, so the owner will just do the affidavit thing in TN to get a title. -D ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
