Re: [MBZ] Where can a guy find a hex key?

if you can't find the hex socket set at Autozone, I have an extra set. 14mm
should fit.

This is nuts. All I need is one hex key to change out my starter (83 240D)
and all sets that I can find in stores only go up to 10mm.

We don't have Harbor Freight around here, but we have Northern Tool. No
luck.

Same deal at Sears.

And they all come in sets, not individual.

Do I have to chase down a tool truck and pull it over?

Is it a 13 mm?

Re: [MBZ] Seat Belt Problem

it's called a buckle, or the male end. Buy a new assembly; there's no way to
get a new buckle on (that I can think of).

Howdy -
On my '91 300D 2.5 W124 the thing that plugs into the female thing when I
connect the seat belts together (don't you love all these technical terms I
use??) is broken. It still snaps into place but the edges are shop and I
usually end up cutting my hand on the sharp edges as I buckle up -

Is it possible to replace just the 'male' buckle part or should I replace
the whole assembly?

Next question - where can I finds the parts I'll need?
TIA --

So which of the three of you initiated the secret Mercedes owners'
handshake?

Randy,

Here in big stinky Toronto I bought coolant at the dealer and it was
only $18. Don't know how brutal they'll be in Winterpeg but it shouldn't
be much more. I've never seen Zerex here either.

Curt,

Yo surely have every reason to keep the woman and leave the house! She
sounds great!
Would you consider paying up for an Arizona rust free sun yellow 116 diesel
that looks great, runs great, and has had many, many things rebuilt or
replaced over the 20 years that I have had it. It should travel well with no
additional work but who knows! I think it is worth $4500. The engine has
about
20,000 miles on a serious rebuild that should run for a long time. I have
receipts for new parts and machine work totaling over $2700, I did all the
labor. Same with the AC, the driveshaft, motor mounts, etc., etc, etc. The
palomino gold interior looks really good and the seats have been removed and
renovated, with new horsehair pads in back. Front and back bumper skins and
rubber replaced, new headlight surrounds (with spare Euro headlights. The 100
watt US headlights may be the best you will have ever seen and I can't justify
changing to the Euros).

No trailer hitch though! And it is not clear if you were thinking diesel
power.

I am getting past the point where I can keep maintaining my fleet, and must
consider parting with my baby.

You would be first in line.
