Mikrotik doesn't do proprietary Cisco protocols. What do you need out of
the switches?

Not sure but I think NO tracking is least CPU consumption, then fast track,
then regular whatever. So that makes sense it would jump to 100.

Re: [Mikrotik Users] OSPF "locking up" between routers

2018-10-31 Thread Josh Luthman via Mikrotik-users
So...uhh...this is kind of embarrassing. I may have fixed it (OSPF just
his adjacency of 19h, previous max uptime was 12 hours). Someone mentioned
the Ubnt backhaul versions or something so I double checked and it never
got updated. One of the two backhauls was running 5.5 or something
ancient. I upgraded it and everything seems to be OK now, at least we're
hitting a new record after 4 days of <12 hour uptimes.

I don't work much with multicast but I was always under the impression that
APWDS and STAWDS simply acted as a transparent bridge. Clearly it doesn't.

Sorry for the noise and thanks for the sanity checks/making me look at the
firmware versions on the backhauls!

Re: [Mikrotik Users] OSPF "locking up" between routers

2018-10-30 Thread Josh Luthman via Mikrotik-users
This is a new setup. The CCR is new. Previously it was static routes and
a Powercode BMU.

Both OSPF interfaces are broadcast.

There are two Ubnt backhauls between them.

Eth link is stable on both, at least there are no log entries or eth errors.

Same ROS/firmware - 6.43.4

Same NTP server primary/secondary, both seem to be the exact same time.

It's not a reused loopback based on it working with the other router
(Powercode BMU) and I can't see it anywhere else ever in ospf debug log or
the routing table.

[Mikrotik Users] OSPF "locking up" between routers

2018-10-30 Thread Josh Luthman via Mikrotik-users
I have an rb750 and CCR1009 both with 6.34.4 and their latest firmware.
They'll match right up and then after 6-12 hours they refuse to talk OSPF.
Once it "locks up" I'll get this constantly:

10:07:24 route,ospf,info OSPFv2 neighbor 10.255.0.14: state change from
Exchange to 2-Way
10:08:05 route,ospf,info OSPFv2 neighbor 10.255.0.14: state change from
Exchange to 2-Way
10:08:05 route, ospf, info Ignoring Link State Acknowledgment packet: wrong
peer state
10:08:05 route,ospf,info state=ExStart
10:08:46 route,ospf,info OSPFv2 neighbor 10.255.0.14: state change from
Exchange to 2-Way
10:09:27 route,ospf,info OSPFv2 neighbor 10.255.0.14: state change from
Exchange to 2-Way

Now if I go to the 10.255.0.14 router (this is a management address, the
OSPF network is public space) and simply disable and enable the OSPF
network, it comes right back - again for 6-12 hours.

Any ideas or suggestions?

If it's just that maybe a dd and replace the user file with a copy you know
what the credentials are.

Re: [Mikrotik Users] VOIP QoS script for Ooma?

2018-06-12 Thread Josh Luthman via Mikrotik-users
Generally VoIP is flagged with dscp 46, you could queue that. It's no
guarantee, though.

If it's just this one customer, what I would do is set a DHCP static
reservation to make sure it always gets the same IP. Then do a simple
queue for that /32 and prioritize it.

I'm looking at using them as ptp between house and barn/garage. We used

[Mikrotik Users] Any reason to NOT use CCR1016-12G ?

2018-03-12 Thread Josh Luthman via Mikrotik-users
I'm debating on the CCR1016-12G versus CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+

With a few more cores I'm expecting ROS v7 to help it be a bit faster. I
don't really need it, but for such a small price I'd rather not replace it
sooner rather than later. I did want to see if there are any known issues
with the 1016 models from the group, though.

I don't need the combo or SFP+ port. It's all ethernet for me.

Re: [Mikrotik Users] Site-to-Site VPN

2018-03-12 Thread Josh Luthman via Mikrotik-users
>L2TP provide any routing

Are you serious?

Sounds like you just want to make it easy to manage. I do this from my
house to our network with PPTP and EOIP. I have an EOIP tunnel that puts
the office network on the "wan" of my home Mikrotik that masquerades all of
my traffic as a management office IP. Works pretty flawlessly, I can't
think of any issues I've had in the last 2-3 years doing this.

If you're looking at passing customer traffic/DHCP server/etc over the link
I would strongly suggest just putting another box at the other network,
like another Powercode BMU/Mikrotik/etc.

Lots of hidden features in Mikrotik, especially in weird command line
menus. Thought I'd ask before getting into an untested script =(

Would need to add batteries. If that's the only resolution these customers

[Mikrotik Users] Powerbox staggering power on ports

2018-01-02 Thread Josh Luthman via Mikrotik-users
We have an unfortunate deal where we have a temporary solar situation.
It's a 24vdc supply to a Powerbox which is POE to a BH and AP (Epmp and
Nano).

Over night of course it loses power these weeks with the lack of sun. We
get there in the morning and with all three things plugged in it won't boot
right. It looks like the Powerbox comes up but the red light for POE keeps
blinking to the BH and AP. We can unplug these two, then plug in the BH,
and then the AP to solve this problem.

Is there a way to do this without writing a script on RouterOS? I'm
thinking of shutting power off on bootup, then after 60s port 3 on, 60s
port 4 on.

[Mikrotik Users] CCR routers and BGP

2017-11-09 Thread Josh Luthman via Mikrotik-users
I remember the CCR had a lot of issues running BGP and would crash. I'm
not worried about it takes a couple of minutes to build routes when it
first boots up. Are the issues resolved at this point?

I'm running an older x86 box for BGP and want to replace the Powercode BMU
(x86) with a more power efficient unit, possibly a second CCR? Does this
sound like a good idea at this point or will I have Mikrotik problems? Is
there something better than the CCR for these jobs?

[Mikrotik Users] RB750 disabled pptp client?

2017-08-15 Thread Josh Luthman via Mikrotik-users
I have a remote RB750p that disabled it's pptp client, removed the dst
IP/user/password.

Any ideas why this happened? That's the only thing that was effected - not
the ppp tunnel (for the Sprint card), eoip, etc

possible you're hitting the PPS limit on the device?

When customers are doing 60 megs can you do a Speedtest and still hit 300?
