I see.
What got me confused were dmesg logs of older OpenBSD versions where the same
Nvidia AGP seemed to be configured -no related errors in it- but I must admit
that I don't really understand the whole content of those logs.
Too bad.

Thank you very much, Jonathan.

There is no support for nvidia AGP at the moment. Someone needs to write
that or port code from FreeBSD or elsewhere
https://svnweb.freebsd.org/base/head/sys/dev/agp/agp_nvidia.c?view=log

At the moment there is

agp_ali.c
agp_amd.c
agp_apple.c
agp_i810.c
agp_intel.c
agp_sis.c
agp_via.c

OpenBSD 6.2 amd64 and ATI Radeon 9550

2018-03-23 Thread Freen
Hi all

I have installed OpenBSD 6.2 AMD64 on my old PC consisting of:
Motherboard:MSI K8N Neo2 Series (MS-7025);
Graphic card: Sapphire (ATI) Radeon 9550/X1050 Series (RV350) AGP 8x.

Unfortunately, things don't work very well: the AGP seems to be not configured
and there is an error in dmesg. X environment is slow and when scrolling the
mouse become irresponsive until the scrolling stops. Setting different values
in "machdep.allowaperture" doesn't change anything.

Don't know if it matters, but I noticed that though my card is listed in the
radeon(4) man page, it isn't listed in the Xorg.0.log Driver section: it is
instead recognized as an ATI Radeon 9600 AS (ChipID = 0x4153) of which my card
should be a derivative with different chipset ID (0x4173). Automatically
installed firmware is "radeondrm-firmware-20150927".

USB has problem too, but I think I'll not go in depth further if I can't fix
the graphic issue, provided that my hardware is still supported. Hope someone
helps me understand what exactly is wrong here.

FWIW here are the dmesg.boot and Xorg.0.log files.

Thank you.
