Re: [Mixxx-devel] wiki overhaul
I consolidated the FAQ and Troubleshooting pages into one Troubleshooting page, got rid of distracting outdated information, and organized it. The Latency reduction tips section was really long and I feel that it made the page cluttered when looking for other information, so I moved it to its own page called Adjusting Audio Latency. Because Mixxx links to the Troubleshooting page if it cannot get realtime priority, I put a bold and italic notice at the top redirecting people to the new page. Should the link in Mixxx be updated to the new page or should the new page be merged back into the Troubleshooting page? On 06/10/2015 05:01 PM, Be wrote: I have started overhauling the wiki. Hi! I have been lurking for some time in this mailing list, this is my first time writing so I just wanted to say: hello! I am improving the mapping for the Pioneer DDJ-SB that can be found in the forums and I wasted some time trying to find out how to map the effects until I found out how well the MIDI learning feature works :) I thought it would be nice for other contributors to have it documented in the wiki. I would do it myself if that's okay, but I don't know in what version those controls were introduced. I'm guessing 1.12.0, but can anyone confirm it? 2015-06-18 8:11 GMT+02:00 Be b...@gmx.com: I added another example to the MIDI scripting page. It'd be nice if others proofread it. Re: [Mixxx-devel] wiki overhaul
I can confirm that the Allen Heath Xone K2 soundcard works with linux. I've already edited the wiki. 2015-06-13 8:07 GMT+02:00 Be b...@gmx.com: I added a description column to the controller tables. For controllers that have Mixxx mappings, I think we should have descriptions of what the mappings do regardless of what the hardware was designed for. So, for controllers designed for 2 decks that have 4 deck mappings, the description could say 4 decks with a footnote explaining that this is enabled by a deck toggle button. Please take a look through the descriptions. Check that they are accurate for controllers you know about and fix them if they could be better. I think the Supported since Mixxx version column should be changed to Last updated with Mixxx version. I don't think the former is important, but the latter will help keep track of which mappings could use updating with new Mixxx features. Re: [Mixxx-devel] wiki overhaul
I added a description column to the controller tables. Much of the hardware I removed from that list did not sell very much and is so old that it's not even available on eBay anymore. Some of them are not even meant for DJing (such as Korg controllers). ok, in this case, who in the core team did review the new 4-deck compliant mapping for Hercules DJ control MP3 e2 that I wrote ? ;) (or maybe you already consider me as a core team member ? As an examlpe, Hercules DJ Control MP3 e2 is a 2-deck controller, but now has a mapping that can control 4 channels (with a channel switch for deck A and deck B). Good idea. Do you want to go ahead and do that? I am also thinking about adding a column indicating the general purpose of the controller, such as all-in-one, mixer, effects, and loops/remixing. -- ___ Get Mixxx, the #1 Free MP3 DJ Mixing software Today http://mixxx.org Mixxx-devel mailing list Mixxx-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mixxx-devel -- ___ Get Mixxx, the #1 Free MP3 DJ Mixing software Today http://mixxx.org Mixxx-devel mailing list Mixxx-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mixxx-devel
