If I had some time over myself I would be happy to contribute with some quick-start-(dummy)-tutorials, because it's needed. Here is a config for Solaris 8, gcc 3.1, Apache 2.x - multithreaded with SSL - I had no issues with this and am not an expert on Linuz by any means. Perhaps this might help.
