Re: New Info (PR#136) repeatable on https://en4.engelschall.com
I just discovered I couldn't connect to this site with Mac IE 4. However, I got a different error message, so I assume it may be another problem, perhaps my own IE configuration. (I use it rarely. :) My error is is something like: "Unable to estabish a secure connection ... there is a problem with the security certificate from this site." It's not like I have option to trust the site's security (like netscape gives you), I just don't have a choice. -mark John Hamlik wrote: I have been able to duplicate this problem on https://en4.engelschall.com. With an IE4.0 or greater browser connect to https://en4.engelschall.com/manual/mod/mod_ssl Wait at least 16secs. (keep-alive is set to 15secs) Click Refresh. For some reason I cannot get it to happen on the index.html page, this threw me for a while. But that's really a different kind of problem and not caused by mod_ssl. So, what's the current state, friends? As I see it, we've still not found clients which cannot connect to en4.engelschall.com (except those with the CA certificate problem which do not count, of course). In other words: Still no hangs or real I/O errors? Ralf S. RE: New Info (PR#136) repeatable on https://en4.engelschall.com
It happens on IE4.0 and greater and possibly earlier versions as well. If it is necessary to know I can use a verisign certificate and test with a 3.02 version. It did not show up until mod_ssl-2.2.5. The Server supplied an invalid or unknown answer" Then I click "OK" and reload again, and this time it works...
