Over the last couple of years I have been working on a pure Perl
milter which uses the Sendmail::PMilter interface to Sendmail.

Sendmail::PMilter uses your module Sendmail::Milter, but for proper
operation of my milter (which makes use of version 6 of the milter
protocol) there are issues with both modules which need to be fixed.

There are also serious unfixed issues in the CPAN ticketing system
going back more than fifteen years.

I have fixed all the issues in my version of Sendmail::PMilter and I
am now the maintainer for that module. In the absence of a reply from
you I created a module which I have for the moment called MilterV6.pm,
and at present I use this instead of Milter.pm (amongst other things
it contains new constants etc. required for full support of the milter
protocol version 6 API).

I have not yet published any of this. It seems to me that it would be
better not to add MilterV6.pm to CPAN if I can update Milter.pm instead.

Kind regards,
Ged Haywood.

Greetings,

I'd like to take on maintainership of Sendmail::Milter.

I've sent messages (copies below) to all the addresses for the current

Hi there,

I'd like to take on maintainership of Sendmail::Milter.

Is that OK with you? If so, would you please do the necessary?

Thanks,
Ged Haywood.

Greetings,

It seems that Sendmail::Milter has been unmaintained for many years.

I should like to take over maintainership, do you have any objection?

Kind regards,

Hi Nicholas,

Yes, I've been swamped with other stuff, so I would welcome you as the
co-maintainer!

How do I process this officially?

Thanks.

I guess you do not have time to focus on it anymore.
I can see some tickets opened for more than 5 years without any answer:
https://rt.cpan.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=91435

I was wondering if you would let me be co-maintainer on this module?

I've got this case pending:
https://rt.cpan.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=125835

And would be able to submit a few extra patches.

If you want to review them and keep the exclusive maintenance of the
module, I'm also fine with it.

If you are willing to accept some help on it, will be glad to help.

Thanks for letting me know

Thanks for your quick reply, I clearly understand.

Here are the steps to add a co-maintainer to your distro from
https://www.cpan.org/modules/04pause.html#add-comaintainer
My PAUSE id is atoomic

   1. Visiting the Change Permissions
    menu item
   2. Click on the 3.1 select button. (No need selecting module names here)
   3. In the new page select the modules for which you want to set the
co-maintainer bit. (Remember, you have to give co-maintainer bit for every
module in a distribution, in order to let the other person upload that
   distribution.)
   4. Type in the PAUSE id of the designated co-maintainer
   5. Click on the button *Make Co-Maintainer*

Thanks for replying so fast
nicolas
